funny thing. the college that i want to go to is having a study on the human conciousness and video games. since most of my time is spent in music an dgming i think i will volunteer;)
I hope the new NOFX album is good.
I heard they're recording an acoustic version and an electric version of each song, and then going through song-by-song and choosing which is the better version for the album. Gee, where have I heard of that before....assholes.

sketchyjoe 03-15-2006 01:15 PM

I heard Fat Mike is outsourcing all the actual music making to sweatshops in Indochina and the band just turns up for fifteen minutes a day to lay down some annoyingly grating vocals and half-arsed harmonies.

AndreTheHyena 03-15-2006 01:19 PM

Figures.

Skidmark Steve 03-15-2006 02:04 PM

How old is NoFX now? 45?

AIRIC 03-15-2006 02:07 PM

I still love NOFX.

(r)evolution 03-15-2006 02:12 PM

werd, they're greatest hits album is really good.

Jersey's Best Dancer 03-15-2006 02:15 PM

I grew out of NOFX. First punk album i got was WTTHAAB, but the music gets boring real fast. Plus his voice gets to me sometimes.

AIRIC 03-15-2006 02:17 PM

Yeah, I loved them when I first got into punk, then they got annoying, and now I love them with all of my music heart. Ribbed is probably my favorite.

(r)evolution 03-15-2006 02:25 PM

have any of you heard the Rancid/NoFx split? Thats a damn good record.

Anarcho Poser 03-15-2006 02:30 PM
have any of you heard the Rancid/NoFx split? Thats a damn good record.
I was kind of unimpressed by it.
I was kind of unimpressed by it.
Nofx didnt do alot for me on it, but rancids songs really did. Brews, moron bros and bob turned out really good.

AIRIC 03-15-2006 02:50 PM

I love Moron Bros

(r)evolution 03-15-2006 03:11 PM

the rancid version >>>>>> nofx

you really should check it out if you havent heard it

AIRIC 03-15-2006 03:16 PM

I'm pretty sure I have the split.

I love the guitar in Moron Bros.

Liebensaft 03-15-2006 03:24 PM

It's upsetting to see so many people say bad things about NoFX. I love them. Older stuff more than newer stuff though.

Brain Toad 03-15-2006 03:26 PM

The NOFX/Rancid split was ****ing horrible. Two really bad bands on one record. Eww.

Biscuit_box 03-15-2006 03:26 PM

2,000th post. Wip-de-fu(king-doo. I was going to upload a ****-load of music for everyone to download but I couldn't be bothered.
To Brian, we're playing a gig in Portrush, the Sligo then 2 in Killybegs!

Jessizzle 03-15-2006 03:28 PM

I like Nofx over rancid.
I really dislike Tims voice.

Liebensaft 03-15-2006 03:29 PM

NoFX > Rancid x 1,000,000

AIRIC 03-15-2006 03:30 PM

Tim has an awful voice.

DaveToopes 03-15-2006 03:32 PM

That is true, although plenty of bands I like have bad singers. They just don't annoy me like Tim does.

AIRIC 03-15-2006 03:33 PM

No one as awful as Tim. I bet you can't name a band who has a voice as awful as Tim.

DaveToopes 03-15-2006 03:34 PM

Not of the top of my head, no.

Jessizzle 03-15-2006 03:36 PM

Me and this hardcore jersey kid was talkin music. And he said the guy from bad brains voice annoyed the hell out of him. Personally i really like it.

DaveToopes 03-15-2006 03:37 PM

I don't like the guys voice much either.

AIRIC 03-15-2006 03:39 PM

Yeah I don't like it much.

Jessizzle 03-15-2006 03:41 PM

Its diffrent, and i like it alot.

Fisticuff111 03-15-2006 03:46 PM

I like Tim's voice, and I like Rancid way more than NoFX. That partly has to do with the fact that Matt Freeman is the reason I picked up a bass guitar.

DaveToopes 03-15-2006 03:49 PM

I have to admit Freeman is a freak on the bass.

Liebensaft 03-15-2006 03:51 PM

Yeah, he's definitely an inspiration.

Skidmark Steve 03-15-2006 04:02 PM

I somehow like Tim's voice. But for some reason I cant stand Bad Religion's vocals.

asdf 03-15-2006 04:05 PM
I have to admit Freeman is a freak on the bass.
I still aspire to play the maxwell murder solo. I'm just not that good :(

Rise Me Up 03-15-2006 04:07 PM

Just so you guys know, Stevie Wonder is amazing, and I have one of his albums shared on soulseek if anyone wants it.

asdf 03-15-2006 04:09 PM

Just so you guys know, all the music I share on soulseek is amazing and should be downloaded.

Rise Me Up 03-15-2006 04:10 PM

Pshh.

sketchyjoe 03-15-2006 04:10 PM

I like Rancid. Personally, I don't mind Tim's voice most of the time but Lars' is a lot better. It's best when they split the vocals.

NOFX are very average. They've written some good songs but too many crap ones as well.

HR's voice is amazing. It's not voice, it's throat.

I just spent the last hour tearing my room apart looking for my guitar strap which turned out to be hanging on the back of my chair, underneath my jacket.

albert_bass 03-15-2006 04:11 PM
Just so you guys know, Stevie Wonder is amazing, and I have one of his albums shared on soulseek if anyone wants it.
I love some Stevie songs too.

I played Maxwell Murder on a show the other day...man, I ruled so much.

Rise Me Up 03-15-2006 04:13 PM
I love some Stevie songs too.
You like good music.

sketchyjoe 03-15-2006 04:14 PM

Matt Freeman is an awesome bassist but I don't like Maxwell Murder. His simpler basslines (like Journey to the End of the East Bay) all sound a lot cooler, something isn't better because it's harder to play. This isn't metal.

Stevie Wonder's made a lot of good stuff, but a lot of schmaltzy crap too.
