B 02-13-2006 07:47 PM

Dead Star 02-13-2006 07:52 PM

Surtr 02-13-2006 07:54 PM

Brandon..Just find a cheap whore and get herpes...That should be a good enough excuse...

B 02-13-2006 07:57 PM

Well I need to get out of it because I have plans with my girlfriend. I may have to tell him I got hit by a car (Which I did) and then make up some crap about having a doctor's appointment.

Him being the coach.

Dead Star 02-13-2006 08:00 PM

You got hit by a car?

So...I'm not big on DT...but my brother just informed me I'm seeing them over Spring break. That should be cool :)

bottlerocket 02-13-2006 08:20 PM

^ DT = Dream Theater? If so, they're OK to listen to every once in a while, but then it just gets like:

Argh! We know you can play at 300 bpm, Neil Pert! OK, Myung, you can shred...yeah, yeah, guys, we know you can all solo over C Moxolodian in a 5/4 time sig at a tempo of 200 bpm...WE KNOW!

:p

Gav just said Neil Peart was in Dream Theater. Try Mike Portnoy :p

But yeah, that's how I feel too, plus I dislike Labrie's vocals. However I love going to shows and this is one I'd not normally be able to afford so it'll be cool.

B 02-13-2006 08:25 PM

haha Gav, I agree.

Vince:I despise LaBrie's vocals, they should have stuck with being LTE.

Yes.

But since it's live I'm going to assume there'll be some jamming and stuff so that should be better.

B 02-13-2006 08:30 PM

True. I'd imagine they're quite a sight live.

Bah! Pert's in Rush! I always confuse those two!

My bad. :(

Yeah, they're decent, I guess...

So that girl I sorta have a thing for and was supposed to hang out with called me and left me a voicemail...apparently she and her friend drove into Boston but their car got towed and Julie's phone was in the car so she couldn't call me. She just got her phone back and just IMed me asking if I got her message. My current away message says "Out with Liz...=]"

Liz is like, my best friend, but we've always sorta had a thing for each other but we couldn't go out for one reason or another (long story) so Liz always helps me with relationship stuff...she told me to put it up because it'd be funny. :p

So yeah...that explains that, I guess.

That "A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White" song is super catchy and good. I listened to it and I was like "maybe new Underoath isn't that bad and it could be one of my guilty pleasures." Then I listened to "Reinventing Your Exit" and "It's Dangerous Business..." and I remembered why I trashed them.

Nevertheless, "A Boy Brushed Red..." is really catchy.

Chris: I like "A Boy Brushed Red.." I also like the rest of the cd too though, as well as their old stuff.

It's catchy but I still don't like it. I like Spencer's scream, though. I have the album. I bought it before I heard it because my friends were saying it was wicked good and I liked Acts of Depression and The Changing of the Times so I figured, "Why not?" I was disappointed but Spence's screaming is pretty good.

And yeah, "Reinventing Your Exit" sucks...I do like "Young and Aspiring" (#1) and "I Don't Feel Very Receptive Today," though...those are pretty good. Spencer really shows his range in "I Don't Feel Very Receptive Today."

/puts it on to hear "breakdown" Spencer screams in

That's the only reason I'd actually listen to the CD, now...just to hear Spencer's vocal work. I like it a lot.

if you have the CD, you should really take a good listen to "Young and Aspiring" which is track one. Its really fun and catchy and has a decent breakdown, and also check out "I Don't Feel Very Receptive Today" which is track 8. Its got catchy riffs and its all screaming.

EDIT: dang, beat by Gav. Exactly the same post too!

Naw. It's Anberlin/Emery and other bands that I don't care for much.

A Boy Brushed Red is REALLY catchy. It kills me.

I don't have to justify it.

I've got it plenty justified in my mind. She's a jerk. She does crap behind his back. He's liked me since we were little kids. I've justified it plenty.

Wow...

But really, I think those songs really show what Spencer can do with his voice...his scream's sick.

I wish I could scream like that. It's really trebly and clear.

My scream's like...weird. I dunno! You've heard it...what's it sound like? :p
