Ah Alex is taking a break apparently.
I'm reading Shadow Fall by James Clemens atm. Book is pretty dark and gloomy. http://acplinfo.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/shadowfall-by-james-clemens/ |

Greyhounds are kinda cute in a gangly sort of way but they're really unhealthy.
|
Shadows Fall ROOL
edit: yeah, my whippet (basically a greyhound)became overweight and died of a stroke :-/ |
~*~dark and gloomy~*~
I'm finally reading The Silmarillion.
|
It's probably more fun to say "Silmarillion" than it is to actually read it.
|

Still need to buy that one sometime. And The Children Of Hûrin. |

|

those are pretty long children's stories i mean what if they.. happen to uh... fall asleep ahem |
I'm currently reading The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier , it's pretty good so far.
|

|
I'm reading a Lovecraft anthology.
It's probably more fun to say "Silmarillion" than it is to actually read it.
I enjoyed it except for the genealogies that popped in from time to time. |
Only Lovecraft I've read was (obviously) Call of Cthulhu. It was so good but I really think it should have been longer. I'll read more since they're all public domain.
|
lovecraft is annoying

I picked up this on sale awhile ago and am going through it (Oddly, the MSRP is $13...must have been really rare, and I got it for about $8) http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-LOVECRAFT-THE-FICTION-COMPLETE-UNABRIDGED-HC_W0QQitemZ200381826194QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Fiction_Books?hash=item2ea7b00492&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 It's nice because it gives backgrounds and notes on each story and so forth. B&N editions of classics are really the way to go. |
Nah, free editions of books that you can legally get for free are the way to go. I mean, short stories mostly but isn't that all he really did anyways? I just read them on my iPhone on the subway and it's perfect.

Lovecraft ftw. Reading Kierkegaard - Either/Or atm. |

Meh, I like physical books. Don't do any book reading digitally, just class reading. Plus apparently this has appreciated 500% since I bought it... |
I read them on my phone and it works perfectly. I read comics on it too and it works out fine. I obviously still prefer hardcopies but I'm not going to pay for a short story I can legally get for free.
|
Fair. I tend to buy a lot of used so like $4 or so for up to 400 pages...really not too expensive. Comics/graphic novels are actually killer on a price-per-page basis. Those and nice leather, glided hardcovers are the most expensive books I own.
|
Never tried reading on my phone, probably wouldn't work for me because my phone screen is insanely small. I love audio books though, I tend to borrow my dads from time to time, he has a lot of Shakespeare audio books. I don't understand half of the sentences but still, relaxing from time to time.
to be honest I doubt very many people understand half of his sentences. |
I just realized my Mythology professor's name is John Walsh

i just finished reading through this
http://www.amazon.com/Necronomicon-Weird-Tales-Lovecraft-Gollancz/dp/0575081570/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1252957372&sr=8-3 probably the most complete lovecraft collection ive come across. kinda sucked tho because id already read half of them before. im nearly finished with the road now. wanted to read it before the movie came out, because after i see a movie i never feel like reading the book its made after. going to read blood meridian next, my friend told me that was easily mccarthys best. started reading this book called a good and happy child, but the road kinda took my attention when i realized the movie is going to be out soon. |
The Road got delayed I think
|
if they dont do it right it could end up being a really boring movie. his writing style is what makes it so enthralling even when half the time all thats happening is theyre sitting on a tarp eating peaches and **** haha. i hope its a good director, about to look it up. viggo mortensen is probably the perfect actor for the man tho, so thats a good sign.
|
been readin some golden dawn stuffs lately, no biggie

what is it called? im probably only missing a couple works between the various anthologies i have but someday i might get it just for collections' sake.
