She probably has a lower voice than Robert Plant.
Ba-zing! |
I'm a Ledhead, and even I think Robert Plant looks like a woman. Maybe it's the strangley effeminate permed hair...
And yeah, I'd like to hear any woman scream like Plant  np - In My Time Of Dying \m/ |
So far the only bands that ar lined up are:
Styx :Pukes: and Alice Cooper I didn't watch the halftime show because ABC/Global(Canadian) were out during the halftime because we had a huge blizzard last night. Luckily they were showing No Direction Home on MuchMoreMusic(Another Canadian Station) so I was happy to watch that instead. The game did come on right before the Seatle interception so I switched between channels or split the screen with No Direction Home with the sound and the Superbowl without. I'm glad Pitsburgh won though. :) Oh yeah, snow day for me. So that makes today a four day weekend. We've got like 2 feet of snow in the last two days.
Ah, they better make it better! Ya, I watched part of no direction home too. It was good, I liked the interviews with bob from back in the day. I wish I'd gotten a snow day for that big snowfall, but I got a long weekend anyways because of exams last week. I'm glad winter is here though. I missed it. |
Its just that Robert plant looks like a woman.
Sounds like one too |

I do have to butt in and be the stupid Led-defender here, because he doesn't on all their songs (case in point: Wearing And Tearing \m/ ) but yeah, for the most part, you're right. It's less a woman than an alto singer who managed to get picked up by a rock and roll band though. |

Nothing against him, I'm a Zep fan, I was just pointing it out. It usually doesn't sound bad either (his wails can get irritating) |
I've heard guys who can sing like Robert Plant, I can hit most of his notes but not with anywhere near the strength he has. Most guys voices get very weak and shaky in the high ranges, that's what sets Robert Plant apart. The fact that he was a blues singer is the reason his voice sounds so strange, it's sounds a lot more normal to hear guys like Geddy Lee, Bruce Dickinson and Freddy Mercury sing really high because they weren't blues singers. Most blues singers have relatively low ranges.
Today we had our first vocal jazz practice of the year, two of the songs we are doing so far is Yesterday (in which I might actually have to sing lead, with the rest of the gang just singing "oohs" and stuff) and Peter Gunn. No one else had ever heard Peter Gunn before, and the teacher didn't even realize it was from the Blues Brothers. I was astonished. |

I wouldn't say Geddy Lee sounds more normal.... ELP's version of Peter Gunn is fucking sweet.
|
I don't know if I've heard ELP's version. One other singer recognized the tune. It's pretty cool to sing though because the bass singers do the main bass part, and then suddenly the sopranos and altos come in singing the horns part like "waaaaaah wah!" "waaaah wahwah!" and it sounds really cool.

Ya the jazz choir at my school did that. They even used the plunger ends for the wahs as a gag. |
They're good people, they just get a little sidetracked sometimes. Plus Jacaranda can be a spatulahole if he wants to be, as we say in the CR thread,"There's nothing scarier than a pissed-off Jacaranda."
Huzza? |
He said you can be an asshole. Spatula is the replaced word for it.

Huzza :p I was just playin', trying to get that man_made_god guy off our dicks and to stay in the CoB thread to be honest. |
CoB blows.

/Sarcasm detector I'm not very good at reviews, but I try sometimes anyway. I felt like I could write pretty good about the actual music. |

How should I go about reviewing Eternal E by Eazy E? I really don't want to sound mediocre. |
Ok, it's crappy and cliche, sorry.
It thought it was cliche, but had to be said. |
It is fine okay!
|
I thought the review was great. Great album too. If I thought the review was shit, I would have said, "this review is shit" instead of "great review"
But that album is so freaking awesome. |

No matter how good of a writer you are you can't write a decent postive review on a less then decent album. |
I wasn't very impressed with the previous reviews of it, especially for an album of it's caliber.

Yeah that's why I re-reviewed Brainwashed. The prior review of it was good, but too short and the reviewer underrated it. But for some reason my review got deleted:mad: I'm bored, anyone want to tell me something to review? |

OH great rap hating. |

Its just black people talking about how bad they have it and how white people should feel bad for them, well I think 150 years were long enough of feeling sorry for them and they don't play instruments they just talk over techno. Its crap |

Ummmmmm I feel anger. The backing tracks are quite complex, and on one of the songs there is some guitar soloing going on. |
Lunch, since you are the biggest Who fanboy here :p maybe you know the answer to a question that's been a-brewin' in my head for a while now.
Why did the Who use so many piano/keyboard pieces in their songs when they didn't even have a permanent keyboard fixture in their band until after '78? I mean, I understand them just using a few simple key parts every once in a while, but it seems like a lot of their songs, especially their bigger singles, have key parts, and a lot of times complex ones. I mean, look at Baba O'Riley! Is there a real reason why they didn't just hire a permanent keys player? Did they seriously just get a random studio artist to record with them that much? Just wondering. |
