that wasnt daves stuff he says in an interview that it was the bands music not his own
Yeh but a lot of the stuff he came up with himself, sure on the Metallica:Behind The Music (I think it was on there) Dave says that he asked the guys not to use his stuff, and they did, and he was pissed off. :) |
yeah dave should at least get credit on the album details for the songs that he did write
|
yeah dave should at least get credit on the album details for the songs that he did write
He does get credit on the album details, check their website. |
a little bit random i know but does anyone think metallica are better than pantera?
(i hope not)
Too different to compare. |

|
so does mustaine get the royalties?
i dunno but he can get his own with megadeth. |
i would think he would get some royalties seen as he did help write them, his name is on the album booklets as well.
|
so does mustaine get the royalties?
I'm sure he gets something, although, I doubt its very much. He also get some credit for the songs he helped write on the old albums. *hasn't posted in the R&M forum in a billion years |
Wow, I pretty much copied DimeBag's post. **** I'm slow.
If you havent relised nu-metal has kept metal going over the last 10 years, Nu-metal bands may not be as talented as bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica but they deserve credit for keeping metal alive, Metallicas new material from94 onwards was **** and people kept on listening because of the Nu-metal bands, when i say nu-metal bands im talking KoRn and stuff, the only problem with nu-metal is its to easy to write and eventually it gets to to the stage where it all sounds the same.
If Nu-Metal is **** why did Metallica turn that way?
cuz they gave up the beer  d a m n |
some one give me a double review (in this thread) or RTL and MOP, comparing the two.
|
Well both albums are well composed, with each song on the album/s being placed in such a perfect way.
Both albums start off with perfect intro songs (Fight Fire With Fire (RTL) Battery (MOP)) Then go into the cover songs, perfect composition. 3rd song is a heavy bass/rum song (For Whom The Ball Tolls (RTL) The Thing That Should Not Be (MOP)) 4th song is a mellow chilled back song, again perfect placement, after a heavy song sitting back and enjoying a slow Metal song is great. Both songs (Fade To Black (RTL) and Welcome Home (MOP) start off with a slow intro, and finish heavy, with Fade To Black being the better of the two, although Sanitarium is also a great song). After the chilled back songs it's like "**** it, well take them back to heavy!" and they bring in some greats, like Trapped Under Ice (RTL) and Disposable Heroes (MOP) both songs have great guitaring and constant/consistent drumming. 6th song on each album is similar to the 5th being great guitar with nice guitaring/drumming duets, Escape (RTL) and Leper Messiah (MOP). 7th song/s are weird, on RTL it's Creeping Death, and you can definately see why it's a Live show favourite, brutal guitaring, from both James and Kirk, and perfectly composed drumming from Lars. #7 on MOP is the great Orion, beautiful symphonic bass from Cliff, perfectly smooth guitar just flows over with the bass, the drumming, while not being a big part of the song, adds an extra dimension to the song, all this together definately make one of the, if not the, best instrumental song ever. 8th song on RTL is the dark and haunting The Call of The Ktulu, the title pretty much sums the song up well, it's dark, it's long, and it's amazing, from the very first guitar strum, to the final drum beat it drags the listenner in, and warps them, it has a weird meldoic feel to it, I can't stop listenning to this song, even though it's almost 9 minutes long, it wouldn't have been the same if they made it shorter, one of the best pieces of work from this band. #8 on MOP is Damage Inc. You really appreciate Cliff's bass work on this song, the roar of the intro can only be Cliff Burton's masterful bass work. It breaks into some sweet drumming. You can see why Metallica dominated this genre in the 80s. These two albums are probably the best work Metallica has ever done, and ever will do. Ride The Lightning - 10/10 best album. EVER. Nothing comes close (Even though it was done before, in my opinion everyone on it except for Cliff, sounds like they are more experienced then in the follow album Master of Puppets). Master of Puppets - 10/10 another great album. Technically the best album Metallica have produced (Well ias far as I know :P), although doesn't sound quite as full as Ride The Lightning. If you enjoy Metal, and haven't got either of these two albums. What the **** are you doing with your life?! |
thanks alot for those reviews.

Did anyone see the Whiskey in the Jar live in Dublin. Absolutely amazing. ****in best song i ever heard Metallica play ever. And James talkin to the crowd before the song
"We got one more song to play. We forgot it last year, shame on you Metallica". Oh god. It went perfect. And it being an irish song just made better. and i was hammered drinking whiskey also. Strange that. |

Would have prefered to have heard Dyer's Eve played instead, but it was Dublin, they had to play Whiskey, especially after not doing it last time. |
Yep it kicked ***. It the greatest drinking song pretty much in the world. The chanting at the start was amazing. "WHISKEY WHISKEY WHISKEY". Wild.
|
Hi I love metallica very much, they kick maximum *** and of course I'm trying to play the most songs on my guitar but lots of people ask me: can't you play a whole song, the problem is, the solos are almost alway way to ****ing hard and I don't have a wha wha pedal
can anybody give me a song with an easy but still cool solo (I can play the solo from nothing else matters but I want to play one from a heavier song) |
Yep it kicked ***. It the greatest drinking song pretty much in the world. The chanting at the start was amazing. "WHISKEY WHISKEY WHISKEY". Wild.
The chants of "Whiskey" began as early as the third or fourth song, it was stupid, you knew they were gonna play it. I mean really do you go to see Metallica to hear the band play covers, or their own songs... |
hahahahahahaha look at lars' beard! he looks like an elf!

I seen them playin whiskey in dublin, f*ckin awesome, but your right, it was stupid of everyone to start chanting for it so early on. Still, absolutley unbelievable concert.
