There was talk of Gigantour coming down here. Mustaine was keen to bring it our way.

It would be difficult to organise, though.
Who Fucking cares how hard it would be to organize! I'd help them myself if there was a chance of seeing Megadeth, Nevermore etc.

:smoke:

Neoteric 12-30-2005 07:38 AM

My guitar teacher has lots of Megadeth t-shirts but he got them through the old fanclub he used to be in.

Yeah. Did you see them in April?

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 07:45 AM

I really want to see Megadeth Again, I want them to get the new album done and tour over here once more!

Sph 12-30-2005 07:46 AM
Yeah. Did you see them in April?
 They were here in April?! Damn! I've only just started keeping up with touring news.:(

I'd love to see them again aswell. Where did you see them?

I saw them at the Astoria, best gig I've been to so far.

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 07:53 AM

Glasgow Carling academy...third best Gig ever...

Well the other two were Maiden :p

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 07:58 AM

Yep, they were Jay, and Anthrax were here in May with the classic lineup.

haha

Megadeth were probably the best I've seen.

Live bands: Megadeth > Dungeon > Bodom > Nile

The fact that Dungeon supported Megadeth made it twice as good.

Mazeppa 12-30-2005 08:02 AM

When I saw 'Deth the support act was Diamond Head, how cool is that

NP:Megadeth - Take No Prisoners

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 08:07 AM

That is. Am I Evil? is an awesome song.

*cries*

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 08:31 AM

I saw the Classic Anthrax at Download, they were pretty awesome

Live bands: Maiden>Megadeth>Cradle of filth>Dragonforce>Slipknot

Probably my top 5. I've seen a load of bands now, though, I suppose, Download counted for a Few; Anthrax, Slayer, Slipknot, Send more paramedics, Nepalm Death, 3 inches of blood, Trivium.

Sph 12-30-2005 08:33 AM

What kind of age limits are there at concerts?

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 08:35 AM

Most likely 14+
Depends on the country and venue

Neoteric 12-30-2005 08:39 AM
Most likely 14+

If the venue sells alchohol then it's probably 18+ depending in what country.

Sph 12-30-2005 08:40 AM

Cool, never had the chance to see a real band play. Probably due to the fact that very few real bands ever come here. :-\

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 09:19 AM

There have actually been quite a few good bands coming this way lately, Jay.

Megadeth
Anthrax
Children Of Bodom
Dismember
Nile
Arch Enemy

and next year:
Behemoth in Jan
Possibly Cryptopsy in April
Exodus and The Haunted in March
Opeth in April
Blind Guardian and Cannibal Corpse have been rumoured to be coming also.

Sph 12-30-2005 09:26 AM

Fix'd

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 09:27 AM

Well Destruction were here a couple of years back.

Sph 12-30-2005 09:34 AM

I hadn't heard of Destruction until your mailing list:p

BTW, What's your avatar all about?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 09:46 AM

It is the cover of Carcass' Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious.

Sph 12-30-2005 09:50 AM

Aah, fair enough.

NP: Municipal Waste - Guilty Of Being Tight

Edit: NP: Municipal Waste - Hazardous Mutation

Shortest Thrash album ever?

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 09:51 AM

You not a Slayer fan Jay?
it's the obvious miss from your avatar...

Sph 12-30-2005 09:54 AM

They occasionally have their moments, nice riffs and solos etc. but I hate the vocals with a passion.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 09:55 AM

I would replace Testament with Sepultura if it were me, but I know you're a large Testament fan.

I consider Araya vocals on their first 3 as some of the absolute best in thrash.

Sph 12-30-2005 09:58 AM

I prefer Chuck Billy. Obviously. Steve Souuza (sp?) has a fairly good voice for thrash as well.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-30-2005 09:59 AM

I've always thought Testament was very 'meh' except for Alex Skolnick.

Souza is good though.

Sph 12-30-2005 10:01 AM

I like how some of Skolnicks jazz influences shined through in some places. Notably on Perilous Nation.

Sph 12-30-2005 10:05 AM

Whoa, this is the Megadeth thread.

Lightning_Rider 12-30-2005 12:39 PM

Hmm that's true, so how about Gigantour 2? Do you think Megadeth will be touring in support of it? and who do you think they will get on the list of bands?

If Maiden toured North America with Megadeth in support of their new albums... That would be one of the most memorable concerts ever.

What does everyone want for Gigantour 2?

RUSHFAN1990 12-30-2005 12:47 PM

Megadeths new cd should be pretty frickin good. The should go on tour cause this summer they were just at gigantour with a bunch of other bands

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 12:55 PM

Personally I could see Maiden touring with Megadeth on a Gigantour.

I'm sure Dave would welcome it, and Maiden would love the chance to rub Sharon Osbourne's face in it, by going on the better tour.

Personally, I don't think Miaden are good enough to be in the same country as Megadeth, let alone the same tour, but there we go.

now that's just silly

Maiden and Megadeth on the same tour would awesome:)

Ha, classic first post.
Welcome dude.

Maiden, Megadeth, Dream Theater, and Symphony X. That would beat teh shit off of Ozzfest
Ha, classic first post.

Thanks for the welcome.
But seriously, I think maiden are way behind megadeth in almost every quarter musically. Far less skill in the guitar and Dave writes music that makes Maiden seem in their 'high school band stage'. I think it'd be far better for megadeth to go on tour with metallica... but with Dave's track record, that isn't gonna happen too soon.

Bazarov 12-30-2005 01:36 PM
Maiden, Megadeth, Dream Theater, and Symphony X. That would beat teh shit off of Ozzfest
Then venue I saw them at, they didn't have the side stage bands. I just got to see Nevermore, Fear Factory, DT, and Megadeth. If a gigantour2 comes along I don't wouldn't want to see repeated bands, hopefully if he does go through with this he'll keep picking different bands every year.

Your mother doesn't deserve to be in the same room as my wang, but there you go.

random dave 12-30-2005 02:26 PM

Jeese, forget I said anything. Maiden and megadeth would be AMAZING on the same tour. That better?
