I should really listen to more of them though. As I realy like the songs I have.
|
Meh, I like Symphony X, but there is symphonic/progressive power metal out there that I like a lot more.
|
They're alright, not my favorite not my least favorite. Their a middle band for me. Now Kamelot, that's an amazing band. A bit bland at times, but they pull off AMAZING live preformances, and are realy talented musicians.
|
Kamelot is going to play in my town 8 days after my birthday. Which means I have a fighting chance to go see them live.
Symphony X is amazing. Even more so live. They were probably the best live experience I've ever had. Russell Allen has an uncanny ability to make you pay attention to everything he does. |
I'de definitely like to see them live ^(Symphony X). He does have an amazing voice.
As for Kamelot, another band that I like what I heard, but I havn't dug any further :-/ ...I really should. |

Russell Allen used to be a narrator at Medieval Times, he had a broadsword on their tour bus and he was forced to leave it at the border when crossing into Canada :smash: THey had to go way outa their way when coming back into teh USA to pick up his sword  |

i hate kamelot, the guys in the band are total dicks
|
How so?
i hate kamelot, the guys in the band are total dicks
I am very curious as well. |
I hate when someone comes into a thread to bash a band but doesn't offer anything to back up their opinion... maybe his girlfriend got backstage with Khan :naughty:
I have been trying to find some Wuthering Heights.
I upped Far From the Maddening Crowd in the DU so what did you think? |
Hopefully I'll be able to make the BB King one.
That's the one I'm trying for. I realized Khan is almost the spitting image of one of my friends. It's freaking scary... I wish Epica was touring with Kamelot again. I mean, Leaves' Eyes aren't terrible (they did a decent job opening for BG), but I WANT SIMONE SIMONS! |
I wish Blind Guardian were doing more than oen Aussie tourdate.
|
Will you be going ?
|
So I heard a couple songs off of 'The Final Chapter' on Dungeon's myspace. Everyone should check it out, Pariah is the coolest...

Hopefully I'll be able to actually find a Dungeon album in stores when it comes out.
|
Nah, I can't afford to fly to Melbourne, it's way aways from Cairns, Jammie. :p
Yeah, I checked those out ages ago, Pariah rocks. |

Damn, that sucks. I didn't know what city you lived in :p |
Just an update on one of the best bands out of Germany. Wizard's new concept album Goochan will be released this coming week. Until then, enjoy a few samples of their work! Sounds much much more professional than Magic Circle, more along the lines of Odin.

If you can't get it locally, grab it from the Dungeon webstore: http://www.dungeon.cd/store/ :) We're working on getting it released outside of Australia now. Let's just say there are some changes afoot with how things are currently being done which will hopefully make getting that and future LORD releases a lot easier worldwide. :) |
I've gotten Dungeon stuff from The End Records, they have an embedded player on their site so it's easy to listen to samples. The prices aren't bad either...The Final Chapter is $11.99US compared to on Amazon for $23.49...
So Lord Tim, how do we get into your good graces to get an add on myspace? It said I had to know your last name or email address and the last name that I entered was incorrect :( metaloz@yahoo.com or if you could initiate a request it's http://www.myspace.com/nightmareiii |
Not a prob, dude! :)
|
Awesome, thanks! Now how to get you to consider doing vocals on my songwriting competition entry... :O
|
Yeah, LT, can you add me too? I tried adding you, and the last name/email thing rejected me also.

I would say that he's been holding out on us about the side projects but I guess I should've looked on myspace sooner. Frombeyond sounds very cool and now I have to pick up an Ilium album :)
That sounds good, thanks for the tip. |
Yeah, heaps of side projects in the works. Got the new Ilium album out this year and the new Frombeyond should be out sometime soon too (man, you should hear the guitar playing on that - Mark is a FREAK!), plus an 80s hard rock / AOR project, a LORD live DVD and of course the new LORD album... so pretty full-on! HAHA!
There's a couple of other things like studios being built and movie soundtracks, etc. so yeah... pretty busy! :) |
Nightwish is pretty much done recording their new album. They just need to pick a replacement from a large pool of candidates (I believe 2000) and do the vocals. Do you guys think the new singer will match up or surpass Tarja?
|
I won't believe the person will be as good until I hear it.
|
Considering Tarja was a fairly average soprano, and there's THOUSANDS of classical sopranos out there, I'm sure their replacement will be more than worthy. I think people will reject the band because the singer may sound different, but I have high hopes (teehee) for where the band is going.
|
I hated Tarja's voice.
|
Me too. But I didn't like anything else about Nightwish either.
|

If anyone is interested, you can check out Ilium at:
