So, i've been liking Ancient lately for some reason.

I don't have any Ancient, what are they like? You think they are something I would dig? I'm always on the lookout for new black metal. :)

They were pretty raw straightforward stuff and then went into an Emperor sound.

That sounds epic, I might have to get some of that as well.

It really is epic, as overblown as it might seem the music completely makes up for it, see my review on them for why they rule.

I purchased Monotheist quite some time ago. Upon being appalled at its lack of anything decent, I looked into other releases and found them equally horrid.

that is devastatingly appalling. how did you manage do survive such a astronomical catastrophe?

I promptly buried it far in the black depths of the back of my CD collection and never looked at it again. I also swiftly deleted the other albums from my computer.
