You guys heard of Little Barrie?

Krabsworth 02-05-2006 10:10 PM
I've seen about every brand get fried.
Well Western Digitals blow.

JonG 02-05-2006 10:10 PM

And what brand do you prefer?

i have not.

Krabsworth 02-05-2006 10:13 PM
And what brand do you prefer?
Seagate.

MidnightRider 02-05-2006 10:13 PM

Considering how Jagger is 60+ years old, he sure can dance. I kept on expecting him to blow a hip out.

Hey Jon, could you possibly send out that Jefferson Airplane? :D

JonG 02-05-2006 10:14 PM

Maybe.

Seagate are alright. A little pricey.

Krabsworth 02-05-2006 10:15 PM

Well you get what you pay for in the computron world.

Whenever I see/hear that now, I think of Pink Floyd. Ican't seem to think/read/say/see/do anything without being reminded of something CR-related. It's actually really that bad. I'll be sitting in class, kind of half-dozing off, and my teacher will say some random word like "Mexico" and I'll get a vivid image of the Grateful Dead.

Speaking of which, I had another wierd iPod thing happen today. I was shuffling through, and right as some song ended, I was thinking, "I think I'll get out of Shuffle and listen to Time and a Word by Yes", and right as I thought it, it shuffled to it. Out of all my songs... just weird.

So... definitely the best part of the Super Bowl was the Stones. Mick always kind of scares me, but they were still awesome. My friend saw them at Duke recently, and they had a five-story stage with staircases and stuff, and Mick ran up and down the whole time, and the stage actually moved out into the crowd at one point!

/random

I've been thinking more about the bluegrass/country/country rock, and I've decided:

Bluegrass: Haven't heard enough yet :-/
Country: Johnny Cash - Live At Folsom Prison
Country Rock: The Lost Trailers - Welcome To The Woods

np: PinK Floyd - Welcome To The Machine (on the radio  )

Stuff like that happens to me too. Well I've never thought of the Grateful Dead while talking about Mexico, but yeah I've had similar experiences...

My ipod's still completely broken:angry:. I've wasted my entire weekend trying to fix it:angry:

Glitterati 02-05-2006 10:22 PM

My mp3 player is still on the fritz  It keeps f'ucking up, I might just save up and buy an iPod.

Krabsworth 02-05-2006 10:23 PM

My record player is working fine.

Mexicali Blues, der-der-der :smash:
Greatest Dead song. Ever.

I love my classic rock station. They just played an unprovoked semi-marathon of Floyd, then the DJ just started ranting about On An Island and how cool the clip he'd heard was, then he went and praised Gilmour directly as one of the greatest guitar players ever :boner:. John Mellencamp now :) Hey, I like him, stfu.

Glitterati 02-05-2006 10:42 PM

I have two local classic rock stations (boner) and one of them played Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Welcome To The Machine right after another on Saturday. Made for good music on the way to the dentist.

Seafroggys 02-05-2006 11:04 PM

Instead of watching the Half-time show (which I did later) my friend put on the Queen+Paul Rodgers DVD. Its actually quite good, even though a couple of times Paul Rodgers really peaked out his range and his voice sounded flat and empty.

And Brian May hasn't changed one bit!

RockAndRoll 02-05-2006 11:06 PM

My classic rock station is okay. But that put on an annual festival, so that's cool. I hope they have a good line up this year.
My record player is working fine.
I still use my dad's turntable and stereo system from when he was in his 20's...it's yet to break down. All this cutting edge digital technology is just plastic pieces of cancerous crap.

I didn't watch the Stones, but my dad had the TV on pretty loud in the other room and I could hear them. I wasn't too impressed...they should slow down and take on a more laid back rhythm and blues kinda feel instead of always jumping around and acting like big rock n roll stars. It would certainly improve their sound.

magicbus 02-05-2006 11:28 PM

Yea that was Ron Wood on the other guitar. I don't think the Stones were great, but it was cool to see them play. Who cares if Mick can't sing as well as he used to, he still looked like he had a lotta fun performing.

So... just figured what ftw means, after weeks of scrolling through threads thinking, "wtf?"

I'm trying to find some good Dead merchandise on eBay, the only really promising thing is that P.I.M.P pewter Steal Your face belt-buckle. I remember there was a really tiny little cool store in Wilmington called A Little Bit Hippy, they had the coolest stuff for the Dead, Pink Floyd, etc. I need to go back and buy some more stuff from there, all I've gotten were stickers so far.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-06-2006 05:43 AM

My friend was telling me about a store he went to (i think MA is where it was?) called The Dead Zone and the store was almost all Grateful Dead stuff *drools*

So far the only bands that ar lined up are:

Styx :Pukes:

and

Alice Cooper

I didn't watch the halftime show because ABC/Global(Canadian) were out during the halftime because we had a huge blizzard last night. Luckily they were showing No Direction Home on MuchMoreMusic(Another Canadian Station) so I was happy to watch that instead. The game did come on right before the Seatle interception so I switched between channels or split the screen with No Direction Home with the sound and the Superbowl without. I'm glad Pitsburgh won though. :)

Oh yeah, snow day for me. So that makes today a four day weekend. We've got like 2 feet of snow in the last two days.

jpj 02-06-2006 11:08 AM

Whoever said the Stones were the best part of the Superbowl obviously didn't see Randle El's TD pass to Hines or the 8 million replays of it after the game.

Snow day, w00t!

I want to go CD shopping, but I have no one to take me :(

 Man forget the Steelers, if the refs hadn't called the game for them and screwed Seattle it might've turned out differently. Remember when they called offensive pass interference on Jackson and recalled the TD because he was feeling where the safety was? Please

Lunch 02-06-2006 12:35 PM

It should have been obvious to anyone watching the game that the Steelers were a better team, and regardless of officiating would've won the game anyway.

The Steelers had to play pretty much their worst at the beginning of the game for the Seahawks to even hope to be in it.

Yeah, I'm so happy the Steelers one. A Pennsylvania team winning, plus I'll be collecting eleven dollars tomorrow. Man, everyone was so pissed last year when the Eagles lost (everything you've ever heard about how crazy and awful Philadelphia fans are is completely true.)

His "feeling" caused a breakway, which is considered pass interference.

I really didn't care who won, but the Steelers did win me $10.

Yeah, the stupid thing is that Jackson probably would've still scored without the push off. I don't really think that was a good call, but that's just how it is in the NFL, it's not like they ripped Seatle.

I got one of my classes changed today and my new teacher looks just like Robert Plant. The weird thing is...it's a woman.

Yeah I know...It's still weird seeing him with boobs though. I keep on expecting her to bust out Whole Lotta Love in the middle of class. I'm gonna have a hard time concentrating in there.
