^ Post 55555. Whoa. 5 5's.

I just made myself an easy $3-600. Go me. My dad's paying me $6 a shirt that I make for him, and he wants between 50-100 made.
Petrucci I think...
Yeah, IMO he is the best metal guitarist out there nowadays.

Sync0pation 10-28-2006 10:29 PM

Petrucci is amazing. I love his solo album

TTTSNB 10-28-2006 10:39 PM

Right now, we should all express our love for Cocaberry.

Edit: And White Riot!, my personal hero.

Bring a practice pad to school.

Maggot Dream 10-28-2006 10:43 PM

I have a pad stashed in the band room so that I can practice when the percussion section isn't playing. I kinda hate how I'm the only percussionist there who really cares about playing.

my favorite guitarist is definitely frusciante, hendrix, or page.

Sync0pation 10-28-2006 10:47 PM

Berk 10-28-2006 10:49 PM

You've got to listen to McLaughlin. Get your hands on some Mahavishnu Orchestra, or get Passion, Grace, and Fire somehow.

That stuff is absolutely essential.

Sync0pation 10-28-2006 10:51 PM

ohhhh!!! mclaughlin is mahavishnu orchestra? Yeah I have inner mounting flame, that shts tight

Definitely, that and Birds of Fire are my favorite Mahavishnu albums.

McLaughlin's stuff with Shakti is really incredible though. That guy is ridiculously versatile.

EDIT: Beaten by Futuro.

Futuro 10-28-2006 10:59 PM

Visions of The Emerald Beyond is my favorite Mahavishnu Album. But they are pretty much all good haha.

Electric Requiem 10-28-2006 11:07 PM

Birds of Fire, Inner Mounting Flame and Visions of the Emerald Beyond are the only albums by them I have. Theyre wicked.

And Stevie Ray Vaughan is my favorite guitarist.

Maggot Dream 10-28-2006 11:25 PM

SRV is great, for sure. Great singer too.

On the subject of great guitarists, has anyone heard of Derek Trucks?

Yeah he is another great metal guitarist. :)
What aboot Michael Romeo. He owns!
I'm not big on Romeo. He's a great player for sure, but I can't really get into his playing too much. Maybe I haven't heard enough though.

If Buckethead counts as a metal guitarist, I'd put him right up there with Petrucci. He's at least as technically skilled, if not more so, and he has much more feel and variety in his playing than Petrucci.

Berk 10-28-2006 11:44 PM

I just made a HXC dance Vid. It's SOOO lame. But I'm still cool/

Futuro 10-28-2006 11:45 PM

I didnt like "Enter the chicken" to much, But I hear all his albums are different, probably will download more from him before I make an opinion.

EDIT: Any recomendations?

ofDooM 10-28-2006 11:53 PM

today i went to the store, and i saw a vintage premier snare drum.

this one was insane! the strainer was....ODD. the strainer was inside of the drum, and it had 2 moving parts instead of one. at one end, theres the lever thingy, and then the internal strainer, but, it connects with a metal shaft across the drum to the other side, which makes the other part move simultaneously.

very very smooth. i like it too. i didnt have the cash though :(

Sync0pation 10-28-2006 11:57 PM

You shouldve gelled your hair up like in that pic. The store owners would be scared shtless and hand the drum over to you

ofDooM 10-28-2006 11:58 PM

my hair is always like that.

Berk 10-29-2006 12:02 AM

They'd be like " H'omg wtf? Scary asian cool guy gonna steal some sweet azz snare."

Futuro 10-29-2006 12:09 AM

I wouldnt make a good ashun ;( I suck at math.

Bet you guys have never heard that one before right ;)

Sync0pation 10-29-2006 12:12 AM

Lol, i remember this one asian comedian:
"I knew I was going to be a comedian when I was the only asian that failed math"

Okay good night MX.
