Quinto. do the world a favor and pull your head out of your ***.
1. there's one difference between you and God: God does not think he is you.

2. Different strokes for different folks. if you don't like it, shut the hell up. no need to be an immature idiot.

3. i don't recall seeing you posting up any audio.

Charlie Daniels 02-15-2007 10:07 PM

Cat's back!

Undisco Kidd 02-15-2007 10:29 PM

It is strange that I was actually concerned for somebody I don't even know's kitty.

I don't even really like cats. But still, awesome. You should love that cat twice as much now.

The Ska Man 02-15-2007 10:35 PM

Gah! Where?! I love kittehs!

double stroke roller 02-15-2007 10:36 PM

hey josiah, are the words "not in my house" familiar to you when you shoot hoops

Win A Rabbit 02-15-2007 10:46 PM

I just went and played with my friend's band. God am I rusty. I haven't played my actual drums in almost 2 months now (just been playing on a little makeshift practice pad setup) and the first half hour or so I was just horrible.

I left my slave pedal at home, hoping I wouldn't be begged to play straight 16ths on it, but of course, an hour into it one of the guys drove me home so I could play double bass.

I think I'm going to tell them I'd much rather play guitar in the band, as I can have atleast some freedom, and I'm a whole lot better on guitar now than I am on drums.

The only thing holding me back is that it's way easier to find a good guitarist than to find any drummer.

Brokensticks 02-15-2007 10:55 PM

Don't give up on the drums man!

With that full of a beard?

rockindrummer 02-15-2007 11:31 PM

how could one make such a drastic mistake

Seafroggys 02-15-2007 11:47 PM

Had a nasty dream last night, my Sabian AA crash cracked because I was playing on it and the stand broke, forcing the cymbal to tilt over and directly face me, and I didn't realize it and I broke it.

I was so distraught and sad, I got such a good deal on it. But I replaced it with one of the cool Amedia cymbals that are silver.

Then I woke up

I also skipped out of work today, they scheduled me during my night class, and I didn't bother letting them know that. I really don't want to work there anymore, might as well go out in a flaming ball.

My beard is a beard to be feared.

Yay rhymes.

derryk 02-16-2007 12:50 AM

Don't you ever let it be.. sheared. because your beard will never be mirrored, which makes it thusly feared. my eyes would be teared if your beared were sheared....

yeah well fück you guys, it's late

Jezen 02-16-2007 01:02 AM
BB, why do you have all that neg rep? ur a good guy
Yeah people ask that alot. The reason is, rep went away for a while. It was disabled because people were getting pissy about it. Then it came back, and if you had good reputation there would be a little thing under your name that said "Elite".
There is (was?) an admin guy named DoubleBassJim who was old, grumpy, and incredibly immature. As soon as the "Elite" status thing came about, he neg repped me like four times just so I couldn't have it. I asked him multiple times why, and I got no answer. He was just simply holding a petty grudge from a clash of personalities.
I have read some of your other posts while lurking about the left foot clave. Why should I not spend time learning it? I think it is fun to solo over and put into grooves. Sure, a lot of guys are doing it now, but it would make me happy as a musician to be able to do. Also, a lot of non-latin guys are doing it and not playing it very well. I do not wish to be like that. It certainly isn't the only thing I am working on. I do not play much authentic latin music; some latin jazz at gigs and jams every now and then. But should that stop me from expanding my vocabulary and musical conciousness?

I am just a bit confused as to why you ask. No offense meant.

Gary :thumb:
Yeah, that's my main deliberation with it. The other thing is that alot of people practice playing clave to a click. It doesn't work like that.

That's good to hear.

No, not at all. If we all lived forever, then I think everyone should know how to clave with their left foot. Or all limbs in fact! It's just that alot of people simply learn left foot clave ostinato stuff because at the moment, thats the cool thing to do.

Just because I don't want you to be another one of these guys who practices it for the sake of trying to be advanced and chopsy.

I hope everyone likes my colour-coding.

Gary Lover 02-16-2007 01:08 AM

Good points, British Boy.

I understand completely. Left foot clave is a frill and a trend, not a necessity. I would like to see more people come out with different ostinatos involving multiple pitch blocks or something. I think the bar needs to be raised if people insist on getting into that stuff. I have been working on a 5/8 ostinato, but it is moving slowly.

There are many more practical things to work on, though. One thing I have been focusing on is consistancy. The ability to nail a song in one try, and have total groove and sound quality peaked. More people should just practice by taking a groove and just looping it until it is perfect, rather than all this chopsy stuff. It has helped me, anyway. I just thought to myself... why do I stop at learning the coordination for a particular beat? I need to start internalizing and perfecting what drummers do 99% of the time: timekeeping.

Sunshine 02-16-2007 07:05 AM

My kitty cat slept on me all night last night.

And walked.

And purred.

And was very warm and fuzzy and happy.

Wow did I miss the little retard.

Drum Phil 02-16-2007 07:10 AM

I find my cat in the weirdest places.

She likes to find small, warm areas. Like behind the sofa, under a chair next to the radiator and here:
