I just listened to In a Silent Way for the first time in a long time. It's so amazing. Almost perfect. I might even like it more than Bitches Brew. Just listening to it was an amazing experience. I felt like I was in a dream or something the atmosphere was so powerful. Those 40 minutes of music went by really, really fast.

JonG 02-02-2006 07:26 PM

I have Kind of Blue and that's it. I wish I had Bitches Brew.

It sounds good.

Just got done listening to Grateful Dead s/t, Blues For Allah, Aoxomoxoa, Go To Heaven and Wake of the Flood.

:p

I was listening to re.ac.tor by Neil Young, hilarious album.

There's a song called "T-Bone" on it, it's 9 minutes ling and here are the lyrics.

If it's about T-Bone Walker that would be sweet.

Mainly, because T-Bone is amazing, and a huge influence :)

Broken Arrow 02-02-2006 07:33 PM

Don't think so, because it's just a rock song with Neil's unco-ordinated soloes and two lines. Haha, I accutally laughed out loud when I listened to it.

JonG 02-02-2006 07:39 PM

I always laugh in "Ride My Llama."

The way he says Llama makes me laugh.

weird canadian :p

lamb-a, correct?

Yeah, that makes me laugh. What really makes me laugh though is that he gets stoned with an alien. I mean, what the fuck?
I met a man from Mars.
He picked up all my guitars
And played me traveling songs.

And when we got on ship
He brought out
something for the trip
And said, It's old but it's good
Like any other primitive would.

Haha these are the lyrics.

Brilliant, haha.

TheDMV 02-02-2006 09:08 PM

 I'm a little confused. Wher does the llama come into play?
I was listening to re.ac.tor by Neil Young, hilarious album
Is that one of the albums he dropped when he was trying to get dumped by his label?

Glitterati 02-02-2006 09:09 PM
Is that one of the albums he dropped when he was trying to get dumped by his label?
He did some pretty crazy stuff in that period. I saw Everybody's Rockin' by Neil Young & The Hot Pinks a few months ago and I was like

Trans is supposed ot suck hard too.

robo2448 02-02-2006 09:12 PM

And then there's Arc which Walrus said consisted of just 30 minutes of feedback.
Wher does the llama come into play?
He rides the llama. Hence the title, "Ride My Llama"

BigTrav415 02-02-2006 09:27 PM

I heard there was some artist who got in a nasty divorce and his wife demanded like 90% of the profits off his next album. Since this would mean the label losing money as well, he and them put out like 10 copies of his "next album" that was just feedback and studio banter or whatever, and it was entitled "For You, My Dear"

That's the only result for "For You, My Dear" I could find.

No that was Trans, Old Ways and Everybody's Rockin' mostly.

Haha, Trans is like Kraftwerk kinda stuff. Lots of synth.

Krabsworth 02-02-2006 10:36 PM

Will someone send me Green Onions by Booker T. and MG's? I heard Green Onions in GTA and I want to hear the rest of the album.

Glitterati 02-02-2006 10:42 PM

I was watching Pulp Fiction today, and I was thinking that Jungle Boogie by Kool & The Gang is a totally badass song.

Krabsworth 02-02-2006 10:43 PM

Hey! Hey! (dadada)

WAIT HOLD UP. Any chance you watched this on your iPod during 7th period study hall? If so well I did too!

thickasabrick 02-02-2006 11:18 PM

I'd just like to say that I have most of Neil Young's lame/cheesy etc. albums on vinyl...and some of them aren't all that bad. I can't say I've listed to them any more than a couple times, but they only cost me a buck each.

RockAndRoll 02-02-2006 11:23 PM

Haha jungle boogie is a sweet song. My school's jazz band played it last year.

Heh, I quite like Everybody's Rockin'. But yeah, for each amazing album he has, he has a very lame album.

At least we now know that no matter how ignorant a statement we may make in the future, there will always be that to top it.
