The first part is worthwhile, I don't know about the world peace bit. I admit he's been slightly brainwashed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in that regard, but if you ever hear him speak about it, he's not trying to push kids to pay hundreds for one of Maharishi's course, he's trying to promote the benefits of meditation in general. It's a strong issue with him because back in the 70s when he was living in Philadelphia, he was full of anxiety and fear, but meditation helped him break away from it and become more in tune with his subconscious, which is what you're seeing onscreen in his movies. If you don't jive with that, fine, but don't pretend it's for any other reason than you just don't connect with what he's saying.

It has nothing to do with me 'not connecting' to what he's saying, it has to do with him seeming more or less completely out of his mind. I'm not even talking about his movies because I haven't seen enough to really make a judgement call on them.

I think I'll watch 4. I'm thinking The Fly, The Thing (your thread reminded me to watch it, since it's been a few years), Predator and Transformers (I want to see if it's really as bad as I've been hearing).

I'm watching City of Lost Children in a little bit and after that Memento and Inland Empire :)

I tried to watch X-Men 3 when I woke up (It was just starting), but like 15 minutes in I remembered it's an absolutely terrible movie.

That sounds like a good haul, especially the first two.

I'm only watching Predator because I need some classic action cheese. It was on SPACE like two weeks ago, but I got food poisoning and was more or less dying so I only caught the first half hour or so.

Predator is cool, I haven't seen it in forever though. Transformers is good fun too.

Actually, John Carpenter mentioned Transformers in the Q&A.

I dont know if Transformers will even finish downloading, since my BitTorrent is throttled now. If I had an unlimited rapidshare account it'd be done by now, but the RS links are split into like 10 parts, and you have to wait like 2.5 hours in between.

Does RS have a higher upload size limit or something? Because I don't understand why anyone uses it for stuff like that, and for that reason.

I'll probably only make it through two, but I can hope.

Then I have to write some BS news releases for my Media Writing class, and maybe I'll finish up some of the reviews for this **** I got sent.

I don't think it does. It's beyond me, they could easily use Mediafire (the archives are all 98ish MB) or even sendspace or megaupload. It's infuriating because I download really, really fast off those sites.

Nah it's my ISP, they throttle most ports. Some trackers work well (like, I get 600kbps on Oink and I'm downloading the latest Weeds episode at 200kbps), but some trackers and ports just fail. The Transformers torrent is going between 10-90kbps.
