To be honest the bits I did hear of The Red Chord were just that, bits. I couldnt bring myself to listen to more because it didnt seem like there was anything different about them. They sound like a slightly more organized Converge.

Goatwhore is damn good at what they do (although Im not a big Funeral Dirge fan). I think you should listen to "Wear These Scars of Testimony" "Forever Consumed Oblivion" and "A Haunting Curse"

That album blows, Serpent Temptation isn't too good either, but the Supernatural Death demo is quite elite.

I havent heard Unholy Cult, but judging from the steps they took from CTAWB to HR to SITL, they tried to switch their sound up too much too quickly and stumbled. SITL is a big improvement on the direction they took with Harnessing Ruin though.

I only have Harnessing Ruin...I actually liked it. Though I'm sure from what I hear thier other material blows it away.

Harnessing Ruin really isn't that bad, it's just considerably worse than it could be.

It's pretty groovy, but I mean it isn't Dethklok, if that's what you meant by "isn't that bad". Still sucks mexican penis-water.
