Squiggsy is a pretty academic guy, who is driven by acheivement.

He doesn't like it when people think they have a more successful life than him when they havn't 'beaten' him academically. Where in fact, people judge their own success based on huge variables.

I think that I'm hugely successfull in certain aspects of my life - I'm married and completely in love with an amazing, strong woman. We are independant in t-1 week and could literally do anything. We could move anywhere in the world together if the notion took us. I'm about to turn 23. I see 40-60 years of good times ahead of me.

I doubt Squiggs see's that as a big deal because in his eyes my academic studies are wastefull - a 2 year foundation degree in music and a 3 year degree in media, communications and cultural studies. Niether of which are anything to do with a future job I may enjoy.
got serious deja vu reading this post
I think I come across like a hugely care, especially when I contunue arguements and make personal attack, but i'm actually argueing for the sake of argueing.
Man, you do sound like a guy who went through uni... my mistake

Arguing for the sake of arguing is for admiring your own wit. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's your right to be a dick if you want. It's also my right to call a spade a spade, which I did. Your meltdown was pretty funny tho :chug: Glad to see you're all better now

I guess the answer there would be to define the two words seperately;

See separate

Sup lod, got an A in calc for the semester and I'm officially done with chemistry for the rest of my college career. Hells yeah.

The_Mop 05-11-2010 05:21 PM

Sup guys, yet more news on the autonomous buggy saga.... y'know how I said one of my team kept bullshitting and kept messing up his circuit and didn't complete it till after the deadline?

Well yeah, he's now going round claiming that the only reason the thing worked was because his sensor circuit was 'so good'. Truth is, it was crap compared to other team's sensors. He had 10 WEEKS to complete the circuit, he only left me with a matter of hours to program the thing, as I had to wait for the sensors to be complete.

The worst part of this? We need to peer review each other. He's dellusional and pretentious enough to bring my grade down with a bad peer review, I'm sure. Twat.

Difference between me and him? I have evidence of him being shit. Go me.

Just a little bit, but the courses are in english, the whole enterprise is on "english" mode, I even have to speak english with the mexicans working with me so the germans who are around also understand. I'm liking the vibe of the people in there.

motogrifo 05-13-2010 12:04 AM

Aes820 05-13-2010 12:30 AM

sociology is applied psycology which is applied biology which is applied chemisty which is applied physics

Sad But True 05-13-2010 04:41 AM

Wouldn't physics just be applied maths?

GuitarBizarre 05-13-2010 04:49 AM

Dammit people if you're going to reference XKCD just post the bloody comic.

XKCD DID NOT INVENT GEEK HUMOUR

it observes and imitates and very rarely makes any original jokes

and then when you make a joke someone says "LOL EXX KAYY SEE DEE!!!!!!!!111" and you just facepalm

Thats all well and good, but when you see someone quoting practically word for word the text in an XKCD comic, its fairly prudent to assume that said person is actually quoting XKCD, considering how popular it is.

Bruce E Kinesis 05-13-2010 06:02 AM

No it's not, that joke has existed for approximately as long as sociology has existed

GuitarBizarre 05-13-2010 06:08 AM
No it's not, that joke has existed for approximately as long as sociology has existed
Look, the only way to determine who's right here is to somehow know innately where SBT and AES saw it first. My bets are most certainly on them seeing it on XKCD, because xkcd is *HUGE*, and even if it does just regurgitate jokes its damned well where a lot of people see them first.

AG 05-13-2010 07:02 AM

GuitarBizarre is arguing that stereotypes aren't based on facts.

XKCD is '*HUGE*' because the content it generates is widely recognised.
