He does pretty good. |
That's a very respectable post Illmatic, it's nice to hear someone actually caring about their country.
I wouldn't mind living in Europe for a year or so, just to check out the different cultures. I was in Spain over Easter Break this year, and I found it very inspiring to be in an atmosphere like that...Candada doesn't have much actual 'culture,' we are sort of just a jumble of cultures. (not that I don't love Canada) |
I can safely say i care about the state of my Country, but i would prefer to make a difference around my college than on a national scale. We have an insanely bad racism problem, and 99.999% is because the islamic population can do whatever they want, whenever they want, and just acuse anyone trying to stand up to them off racism.

That's actually suprising, since It seems like people just saw his movies, then voted for him because they thought he was cool. The multiculture does make it seem like we don't have one, but I actually enjoy having a variety of cultures here. You can learn a lot of interesting things from people who immagrated here. |
Oh whatever just ignore me im going to bed.
Bye guys. |

Whenever I go to the East or West coast, I am blown away by all the different cultures...I love it there. |
Ohhh you guys. I'm so excited. I'm downloading the Classic Disney box set with all the good Disney songs on it. Disney songs are so fucking awesome.

I'm sorry but I have something to get off my chest:
Every so often I hear people say things like, "Dude, I'm moving to Europe after I graduate, this country's in such bad shape" and every time I here someone say it I want to punch them. It's representive of one of this country's major problems: People would rather run away from their problems and/or seek an easy solution than confront them head-on. People bitch and moan about how lousy things are but they never work to improve them, they just find a way to ignore them. America is far from perfect--hell, right now it's very flawed--but it's never going to get better if people don't work to make it better.
Well said, I agree. My thoughts are this. If someone wants to sit around and bitch about the problem, not try to help fix it, and run to Europe, BYE. Them moving to Europe and denouncing thier citizenship is one positive step. You should encourage those people to leave. This country is in bad shape I agree, we are still recovering from 9-11 and are still in shock from everything that happened. We are having religion shoved down our throats harder and harder every day so the select few can try to control the masses. The answer to the problem? There are many, the question is what angle to focus and attack. The government is pretty much a lame duck. The WHOLE governemt. You can't have something set in stone (the government) that doesnt evolve like the people it is trying to rule. We, as humans, have evolved in ways that were not even fathomable by the founding fathers of our country who began this government. In terms of a time-line, todays government is in the middle ages. Its hard to say, we all have to blindly keep the faith in our country, and our countrymen. We can keep voicing our opinions, voting, and making our voice heard to those we elect. |

Atheism is getting shoved down our throats, and it's **** obvious. The whole seperation of Church/State thing is being grossly misinterpreted, it was supposed to mean that NO Religion should run the Government, like NO National Religion, now if you publicly display your Religion it's "shoving your views down peoples throats." |

No kidding. Religion isn't being pushed more than ever, it's being taken out of everything more than ever. |

SO you haven't been aware of the abortion and stem cell research debates? Or maybe you missed Pennsylvania voting to put "In god we trust" in all schools. Or possibly it was the judge in Texas who spent government funds on a ten commandments statue? Did you miss them all? It's not Atheism, it's lack of governmentally sponsored religion. You're allowed to have a religion, you just can't sponsor it. I wrote my term paper on what the separation of church and state is all about, would you like to read it? |
NO NO NO, it is being pushed around now more than anywhere. Maybe its the community I am in, I can't go anywhere without people trying to save me or trying to preach to me. Just because it isnt on TV doesnt mean its happening.
Your focusing on school related things, you need to look at the big picture. |

It's your community in part too. You live in WV right? That would play a role in it. |
Yea, we call ourself the buckle of the bible belt. Its pretty pathetic here. But, its everywhere. Maybe I am just more aware of it than most. I was recently in Columbus OH and the same thing was happening there.

Oh man! Bad place for an Atheist... yeah, being in Penn, it's pretty Liberal, and lot's of Atheists who are nearly as arrogant as Satanists. |
I'm not sure where I stand on religion. I feel like I'm Agnostic, but then I feel guilty because I might not go to heaven...So I guess I'm Christian?
|
I never said I was an athiest!
|
Ken-You! Tool thread!
What is your religious background then? |
I'm Atheist. I am rather offensive about it too apparently.
|
I already posted in the Tool thread haha.
I don't have a religious preference, or a religion. I accept its there, thats about it. I compare it to cancer. I know its there, I just hope to keep it as far away from me as possible. Ya don't want to get me started on religion tho, most of it will be reflected in the cd im writing. |
Oh, and by accepting it is there means that it is there as a creation of man-kind. Like a microwave oven. Its there.
|
So that means you believe a god created us, or no?
