Peace, Kage.

But I disagree on Third Eye. Ticks and Leeches is definitely the heaviest song of theirs.

Huber 04-17-2005 12:25 AM

Toodles

Depends on how you look at it. The vocals in Ticks an Leeches are screamed where as Third Eye has heavier instrumentation, IMO.

Just read the update on the Tool site..Happy Birthday to Maynard.

It's the harsh vocals and the driving force at which the song comes at you in T&L. The "prying open my third eye" parts of third eye are very heavy, but thats like 1/13 of the song.

Edit: fvck you guys, i'm gettin some sleep

Either way Third Eye is the direction I would like them to head in.

Post# 301 I'm out for the night. BYE NIGGAS!!!
I told my friends (all major Tool fans. many of them don't listen to much anything else) about the whole Meshuggah sound and the new album. They had never heard of Meshuggah, and I let them listen. They threw a fit. It sucked.
Don't let them listen to Fantomas then!

Seriously, how could Tool be influenced by Fantomas? All Fantomas do is a bunch of whacked out samples then seemingly random screeching and bashing of instruments.

heavy metal kid 04-17-2005 01:06 AM

What do they eat ? age doesn't affect them

misunderstood 04-17-2005 01:09 AM
Yeah.. Maynard's old. But not as old as Trent Reznor.. Trent's close to his 50th.
Heh, Maynard turned 41 (1964) ... Trent is 39 (he'll be 40 in exactly one month). They're close.

Actually, I think Maynard just turned 40...I've got a newspaper clipping on my bulliten board and it says 39...I'm pretty sure I got it from last year's paper...

But I don't remember :(

The JoZ 04-17-2005 01:16 AM

Nevermind to my post too, Maynard is indeed 41 today.

And still rocking hard :D

heavy metal kid 04-17-2005 01:19 AM

When you start looking for his setup stuff, ignore all the comments you might see on the way about him doing rituals and forming his setup in the shape of some religious symbol. As you can see in that picture, his kit looks normal. He just draws symbols on his drums, and has more than the average ammount of effect pads.

Huber 04-17-2005 01:40 AM

He studies Sacred Geometry types of things. Weird, but you can't argue with results.

heavy metal kid 04-17-2005 01:40 AM
Why would he draw symbols on the drums? That's just goofy.
i don't think is goofy, maybe he feel with more energy or confidence, but i don't understand the whole spiritual-mind thing.

The JoZ 04-17-2005 01:40 AM

He can have stick figures on his drums for all I care, the man is a drumming machine.

Huber 04-17-2005 01:42 AM

The man believes in some abnormal things, but so do other people. I mean, dude makes bread? Dies? Comes back? That's kinda out there when you think about it.
