BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 02-02-2006 12:12 AM
I wanna see/read A Clockwork Orange some time. i tried reading the book once, it made little to no sense.
This is understandable. When I first started reading I had to read the first page like 10 times before I finaly understood it. I've never read a book quite like A Clockwork Orange which makes you read a completley ficticous type of slang and eventully get used to it to the point where words like "viddy", "horrorshow", "solvos"..etc actully mean something, it makes it a very fun read really.
Hey Schyma, what do you think about The Madcap Laughs? It's currently one of my favorite albums.
I like it, it makes for a really fun acoustic psychedelic album. Songs like 'Octopus', 'Golden Hair', 'Love You', and 'Dark Globe' are all fantastic me thinks.

Leper 02-02-2006 12:17 AM

I wish I could contribute to this conversation, but I've never really researched when each guy was doing the most drugs..

RockAndRoll 02-02-2006 12:37 AM

Ya, essentially all I know is they did them alot, for quite a while.

Leper 02-02-2006 12:46 AM

Has anyone seen that show with Gene Simmons called Rock School or something? It's an entertaining show if you actually take the time to get into it. I just hate how Gene thinks he's the best thing to ever happen to rock and roll.

blue3 02-02-2006 12:48 AM

Yeah, I've seen that. They constantly play replays of it on MuchMusic.

Leper 02-02-2006 12:56 AM

I didn't know that was still on. I saw a few episodes when it first came out

JonG 02-02-2006 06:43 AM

That show is pretty bad. Gene prances around thinking he was god at bass or something.

'wired, I didn't get it :p jong21790 @ gmail.com

RockAndRoll 02-02-2006 11:39 AM

I think they finished it a while ago. I've seen a few bits of it.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 11:40 AM

This week i should be getting a lot of bootlegs

Cream - Remasters (24 disk set of concerts)
Yes - Before and Beyond (dvd)
Yes - OYE (dvd)
Yes - April 18, 1979
Yes - 07/24/71
Yes - March 19 1974
Yes - New Haven 1972
Rick Wakeman - Nevermind the Buzzcocks

PinkFreud 02-02-2006 11:44 AM

whoa. where from?

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 11:58 AM

vines on different forums, Yesfans.com for the yes stuff and Tradersden.org for the Cream

PinkFreud 02-02-2006 12:45 PM

that's cool. you do it by sending them blanks and they send them back right?

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 12:48 PM

not with these, what happens is well on Yesfans, someone offers 3 copies of a show (2 for people with a cd burner and one for osmeone without one) the person sends out thestuff and then the burner people redo the whole thing over again.

on Tradersden, someone starts a list of people, the first person emails a show to the person who next signs up for the list, and so on.

I cant wait for the Cream stuff, i think its something like 20 shows

PinkFreud 02-02-2006 12:49 PM

ok. i've done some stuff like that. i just prefer downloading like dimeadozen.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 12:55 PM

im not good with torrents and i dont trust P2P, i would upload the stuff im waiting for here but the cream is over 6gigs (flac files are way to big) and that sucks becuase i hace 2 gigs left on my hard drive
If i get a new hard drive im definetely going to figure out torrents

Did you tupe 24 disk set concerts? Thats crazy. I'd be increadably indepted to you if you sent me one of the Yes DVDs (if you can extract the footage from it, that is) and some of the Cream.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 02:24 PM

if i can figure out how to extract the footage and everything, ill definetely upload it, and some of the Cream, one of the shows in it is a show that someone here sent out (the name slips me at the moment)

I know I got one in Detroit from someone on here. Anyways, enjoy the Yes.

Np: Long Distance Runaround (Live from Yessongs.) This songs is increadible live, Chris Squire blows my mind away with his solo.

Me!

I love Yessongs. Each song seems so epic on that album. My favorites are Roundabout, Siberian Khatru, and Starship Trooper.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-02-2006 02:39 PM

yeah it was you, thanks again for that, its an amazing show.

Hopefully some of the Yes will be here today.

Yeah, those are great. Heart of the Sunrise, Close to the Edge, and Yours is No Disgrace are awesome, as well. That Cream bootleg was great, too.

I just registered for dimeadozen. Can you (or anyone) explain how the whole thing works and how to play torrents?

np- 2000 Light Years From Home

PinkFreud 02-02-2006 03:14 PM

you have to download a torrent downloader like torrentstorm or azureus. i use azureus. then on dimeadozen, find a torrent you like and download the actual torrent file. then, using the torrent downloader, download it. itll be in a lossless format, which are huge. so be prepared. haha.

magicbus 02-02-2006 03:17 PM

You need to first download a program called Bittorrent (I use Bittornado, it's all the same).

When you find a torrent on the site you want to download, just click the link and the Bittorrent program will automatically open. Then you just pick where to save it to, and it starts converting the torrent. You don't actually listen to the .torrent file (it needs to be converted to .mp3 or whatever).

But if you're downloading from that site you're going to need a convertor. Freud might be able to explain that part.

I'm really hoping I can find a bootleg of the show I went last year. It was a big conglomerate of cover bands basically, the theatre that had it is pretty established for live music, and they actually set up an outside stage in addition to the inside theatre on the street out front and closed that entire section of the street on their block, so it was kind of like this I guess.

So they had overlapping shows, it was pretty awesome. I missed all but the last of the Beatles, and I got their after the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton bands, but I got to see the Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, and part of the Grateful Dead shows. It was freaking awesome.

robo2448 02-02-2006 03:40 PM

Thanks for the help PF and Magicbus but my computer wouldn't let me download the bittorrent and I was pretty confused so I deleted my account. Nugs has enough bootleg stuff for me.

np- Phish- Loving Cup (live cover off Nugs)

Broken Arrow 02-02-2006 04:02 PM

I pretty much done with nugs, I got all the stuff I wanted and left.

Although I usually check it for GD bootlegs.

Um could someone send/forward Jon the Grateful Dead?
