That's an incredible song. What kind of guitar have you got?
Fender American Strat. I've had it for about a month and a half.

Illmatic 04-03-2005 08:36 PM
All jay-z can do is write hooks basically. My friend courtney showed me this frestyle battle and Nas pnwd him. Nas is a way better lyricist as well.
Nas is smarter, but Jay-Z is savvier. I prefer Nas' lyrics and flow, though, and his beats early on.
I'm scared about the fact that there is a 99.99% chance that the relationship I am in now will end up in one of two ways:
1) crushing breakup
2) marriage
Yeah, it's terrible to think about it that way. I try to live my relationship in the present, and enjoy it in the present, and not think about how it will end or resolve otherwise. That plays havoc with your state of mind.

I want one of those real bad. I still love Strats to this day. Those things are blues monsters. Every time I see John Mayer or SRV rippin' the **** out of his Strat, it makes me want to ditch my Satriani legato stuff in favor of Strat blues, which will always be the most bad-*** thing you can ever play on any guitar.

"Jay"?

But yeah, I always try to just think about it in the present, but the mind always wanders. ANd when it does, you get twice as scared about losing her.

Jom 04-03-2005 08:40 PM

Even though my opinion is usually disregarded when it comes to the whole dating thing, I have to agree with Cain in saying that you can't think so far ahead in the future like that, because it weighs you down in the present.*

*as evidenced by my friends being emo over things like this

By "Jay" I obviously meant "Ray." :upset: :upset: :upset:

I agree completely with your second statement.

That's why I got it. Killer blues machine. The tone is awesome.

No problem, and yeah....a breakup now would kill me. I don't think I've ever cared this much about a girl before, except maybe the friend I've brought up in here before, but I always look at that differently.

When have I ever disregarded your opinion?

Me too. (meaning my girlfriend) I would hate a breakup. I came back from spring break with a caring for her that was overwhelming compared to what I previously felt.

Bartender 04-03-2005 08:54 PM

Well, just got done watching American Splendour (finally; my computer crashing and a big old scratch on the disc nearly got the better of me), so I'm back on MX for a bit. Antihero - when you told me to watch American Splendour first, had you seen ir before? Or were just answering for the sake of answering?

That reminds me, did you ever finish that Top 100 songs of the past 25 years thing you were working on?

For some reason, the threesome did it for me.

I mean, I loved her before, but it grew stronger afterwards. I don't know if the two are connected.

I hit a roadblock at 50.

 Threesome? Interesting. Why?

No, I watched it in high school for Film & Lit because it was part of the genre we were covering... and it was the only one I was familiar with. Sorry :(

Illmatic 04-03-2005 08:58 PM
 Threesome? Interesting. Why?
I had a threesome with my girlfriend and her best friend in late February.

And I'm not sure why, to be honest...I just loved her more afterwards, and it wasn't out of appreciation for the threesome.

No need to be sorry, I loved it :)

Just wondered.

Yeah.

It's kinda weird that we are a couple....the consensus among her family was that we were the strangest couple at the wedding, but the happiest.
I'm not angry at you for recommending American Splendour first.
Oh, good.

Random question regarding MSWord:

You know how you have the text box to type? Well, my grey space border is gone, and it's frustrating to look at... can someone help me out and get my grey space back, please?
I sound crazy.
No, what you said makes sense (your actual post, not my changing of it).

Illmatic 04-03-2005 09:09 PM
I would never do a threesome. I'm not comfortable with my bf looking at some other chick while he's with me. I dunno, this may sound crazy, but I'd rather him to pay attention to me, rather than a slutmo chick.
Whoa, whoa, whoa...you mean women get jealous? And they think that any girl their boyfriend looks at is a "slut"? News to me!

I'm just yankin' your chain...even if you are pointing out the obvious. I guess my girlfriend is just cooler and more secure than you are

very, very lucky man. :thumb:

yea, i don't think that'd be happening with my gf....

ok goodnight mx

Jom 04-03-2005 09:11 PM

Never mind, I figured it out :-\

Sorry for the stupid question.

Illmatic 04-03-2005 09:13 PM
It's not that I'm insecure.. it's just that I don't want my BF being intimate with someone else while I'm there. I dunno, that just doesn't sound good to me. It's cool that you and your GF can do that, that's just not my style.
That sounds pretty insecure to me :)

Seriously, it depends, I think...we did it with her best friend, so I think she trusted me and her enough not to make much out of it.

Illmatic 04-03-2005 09:14 PM

And that was a pretty quick visit, gocaps...

(also, quite a dud of an Opening Day :upset: )

Cain 04-03-2005 09:17 PM
How is that insecure? I see it as him cheating on me.. with me. I just don't like the idea of that. I don't understand why that's insecure..
Illmatic's just pushing your buttons. He seems to be fond of doing that to you with some frequency.
How is that insecure? I see it as him cheating on me.. with me. I just don't like the idea of that. I don't understand why that's insecure..
"cheating" would be going behind your back to sleep with another girl...in a threesome, everything's sanctioned.

Illmatic 04-03-2005 09:22 PM
Cheating can also be defined as doing anything sexual with someone that's not your s/o.
Eh.

Also, in a threesome, I believe there is the understanding that it is only a one-time thing.

Bartender 04-03-2005 09:23 PM
Oh, good.
What did you think of it, incidentally?

When you had to watch it, I mean.
