I'm happy. I got my stuff from my iPod onto my computer.

That means I didn't lose:

In The Dark
Live/Dead
Reckoning
Shakedown Street
Terrapin Station
Wake of the Flood
Workingman's Dead

Since I'm an idiot, I deleted them when I thought I had them backed up.

Some, a lot of them are pretty hard to find.

I have:

Aoxomoxoa
Anthem of the Sun
American Beauty
Blues For Allah
Workingman's Dead
Some, a lot of them are pretty hard to find.
That sucks, if I had enough cash, I could probably go to a few stores and get all of their studio catalouge, plus a few of the more popular live ones. The stores near me always have them.

JonG 01-31-2006 04:45 PM

Damn, I wish they did. All they have is American Beauty and Workingman's.

I was so happy when I found Blues For Allah.

I might go album shopping tonight, try to find some more.

Jacaranda 01-31-2006 04:45 PM

Hey Jon could you get on AIM I'm having troubles :S.

thickasabrick 01-31-2006 04:54 PM

I hate trying to find good CDs for Classic Rock. All I ever find is Greatest Hits CDs and the most popular/mainstream albums. I really only have a couple CDs from each of my favourite bands, but then I have a lot of their albums on vinyl. It's a lot easier to find rare albums on vinyl than on CD, because if the album isn't as successful for some reason then they wouldn't make as many on CD. That's actually just a guess.

JonG 01-31-2006 04:57 PM

Same with me. I can't stand finding Greatest Hits. That's pretty much all my mom looks for.

I think I'm going to go tonight.

I also can't stand places with microscopic blues/jazz sections. And no reggae.

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-31-2006 05:04 PM

eh reggea's not my thing, i cant get into The Harder They Come at all

JonG 01-31-2006 05:08 PM
eh reggea's not my thing, i cant get into The Harder They Come at all
Shame on you.

It's an excellent album.

Broken Arrow 01-31-2006 05:18 PM

I'm not that big of a fan of that album either.

I'll take Marley, Big Youth or Burning Spear over that album anyday.

BigTrav415 01-31-2006 05:40 PM

Speaking of Marley, what exactly is Rastafarianism? I mean, what do they worship, basic beliefs, etc.? We're doing a project on a religion in World Cultures, and on the list was Rastafarianism, and I never knew it was a religion till then. I'd really like to hear about it.

(Since someone might care, I'm doing Norse [Viking] mythology as my religion, there are some pretty awesome myths and stuff, and some really gory stuff too, like the ocean was created when the first three Aesir gods pushed the giant frost god Ymir into a huge gaping pit called Gigungagap, and there was so much brine from his wounds it filled the gap and overflowed. So we're surfing in a puddle of festering giant's blood.)

DesolationRow 01-31-2006 05:58 PM

On the subject of reggae, has anyone heard or listened to Matisyahu? He's pretty good.

PinkFreud 01-31-2006 06:00 PM

yeah. matisyahu's cool. i think pretty much everyone in here has at least heard it thanks to badmoon.

nice avatar. not my favorite of theirs but still cool.

JonG 01-31-2006 06:01 PM

Yeah, Matisyahu is good.

I like him, I have both of his albums.

I can't wait for "Hope" or whatever the new one's called.
On the subject of reggae, has anyone heard or listened to Matisyahu? He's pretty good.
I've never heard a thing by him, mind recomending something?

robo2448 01-31-2006 06:20 PM

I have both of Matisyahu's albums. I prefer Live at Stubbs but both are pretty good. For some reason, Matisyahu has quickly become incredibly trendy and popular at my school. Nearly as big as OAR, DMB, Dispatch and that stuff. I hate that, but I still enjoy his music.

Glitterati 01-31-2006 06:29 PM
Indeed, have you ever caught them live?
No, but my dad did. he said they rocked the house.

pigonthewing82 01-31-2006 06:31 PM
I can upload that Floyd BBC show I have. My favorites off it are "Echoes" and "Careful With That Axe". Roger does the scream for like 20 seconds.

NP: Scientist - Teeth In My Neck
Yeah that is a great album I love embryo off that its one of the more underrated Pink Floyd songs I think.

Same kinda thing has happened at my school. I like Matisyahu though, but I only have Live at Stubbs.

Broken Arrow 01-31-2006 06:36 PM

I have Shake of the Dust...Arise.

I used to like it more than I do now but still, it's not bad.

Glitterati 01-31-2006 07:10 PM

I don't know why, but I've never really been able to get into reggae. I can enjoy some Bob Marley every once in a while.

Ska, now that's a totally different story.

magicbus 01-31-2006 07:17 PM

The Pink Floyd bootleg has been sent out. Enjoy.

I love reggae. It's just so groovin', what with the basslines and clicky guitar strumming. Dub is good too. Anything with that Jamaican feel.

jpj 01-31-2006 07:31 PM
Can jpj and Freud combine forces to upload the official verisions of that Claypool show? Cause it's an extreeeeeeeeemely awesome set, just hard to hear on the version I have.
Sure, if I can remember to.

MMW = :thumb:
Matisyahu = double :thumb: I have Live at Stubb's and Shake Off the Dust...Arise. I like Live at Stubb's better, can't wait for the new one.

PinkFreud 01-31-2006 07:33 PM

yeah i should be able to do that sometime. which one did you want?
jpj said he had the second set so i can do the first which isnt animals but has a bunch of other good covers on it.

Yea the first set it just as cool, has SOYCD in there. But if you do the first and he does the second that'd be hella awesome. And I don't throw around that term all the time.
