I was chilling at Starbucks with my friend, and I invited him back to my house. On the way back theres this pretty steep hill next to a major road. So i'm whippin down the hill, and I decide to stand up, then I think, why stop there? So I take my hands off the handlebars. Next thing you know I'm riding down this hill standing up with no hands, I don't really know what happened next but I wake up on the pavement with this lady I've never seen in my life standing over me. My friend is holding a cell phone, so I ask him what's going on. He's like "Man you totally bailed, I'm phoning your dad to come pick you up"

So I look in in the window of this lady's (who pulled over to help me out) car, and see that there is literally no skin on my nose whatsoever. So I get picked up by my dad who is pretty cheesed. Upon further inspection, I find a total of 14 abrasions over my body, ranging from road rash on my [size=2]as[/size]s, to a deep cut on my elbow, the worst of which is a huge patch of no skin on my right knee about the size of my palm.

All I can think about at the moment is whether or not I'm gonna have a huge scab on my nose for when school starts. I also can't straighten my right leg, and I'm debating whether or not to ask my dad to drive me to emerge.

You should go get yourself checked out at the hospital, if not just for the legs, but for the abrasions and stuff, make sure they are cleaned properly and make sure you don't get tetnus. Emergency room may be expensive though.

The money isn't a problem, I just don't want to waste my Saturday at the hospital. I just took a very thorough shower and made sure to clean all the s[SIZE=2]hi[/SIZE]t out of my wounds. I think I'll be fine, it's my leg I'm worried about.

My mom is a doctor, so she knows lots of people at VGH (Vancouver General Hospital). I shouldn't have to wait for long if i go. :thumb:

Yeah, when my dad went to get a tetnus shot and something checked out after he got cut with something rusty (don't remember what exactly), we were there for a couple hours.

I'm in a folk-punk band right now, though we're much more folk than punk, except in spirit. We kick as[i][b][/i][/b]s, and cover both Alabama and Flux of Pink Indians. We have some gigs coming up, ya'll should drive to Missouri.

My band, a pop punk band has been practicing today.

Even if it takes awhile, what else do you have planned? If you have no skin on your nose, I wouldn't suggest going to see a movie. I'd go see a doctor.

I got ran over by a tractor at work the other day, at around 9:30 in the am, and didn't go to the ER until after I got off, around 4. By that time, my leg and ankle was so swollen and painful I couldn't walk on it. It turned out that nothing was broken, because I'm an amazing human specimen, but if it [i]had[/i] been, all that work I had done on it could've made it much worse. Screw being "tuff", just swallow your pride and go see a doctor, stupid. Better safe than sorry, unless you want to be a gimp for the rest of your life.

I just mentioned that my mom is a doctor, why go to the emerge if I have a doctor right here? I don't think it's anything serious, I just banged my knee really hard and got a few bad scrapes.
