Dead Star 04-15-2007 10:01 AM

I was going to mention that to you Kif.

They're rumoured to be playing at Leeds/Reading also.

Jev 04-15-2007 10:07 AM
My friend's band is playing the main stage at Download. I don't even know what to say to that. It's bizarre, I was in 6th form with less than a year ago.
What are they called?

Kif 04-15-2007 10:07 AM

Yeah I just read on eFestivals. I don't get it though, they are the kinda stuff you'd find in NME and they are playing Download.

Oh well Ima go play Guitar Hero.

EDIT: I Was A Cub Scout (Crap band name tbh)
Yeah Download's got quite a few Indie bands. annoys me.

Kif 04-15-2007 10:12 AM

urrite J.

Download looks hella crap this year. I was gonna go, since I know my other friend from 6th form would be there and we'd just hang out all weekend getting drunk and probably stoned and shouting at scenesters, but that seems like a lot for £160. So I thought "Fuck him" and decided not to go heh.

Jev 04-15-2007 10:13 AM

Yeah none of my friends will come with me.

It's a good line up for me so far though with Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater.

jpshortstuff 04-15-2007 10:15 AM

i'd only go if you could get a day ticket AND if Chimaira, Dream Theater and a few of the other tolerable bands were going.

Dead Star 04-15-2007 10:16 AM

Leeds ftw.

Mexican Bandito 04-15-2007 10:37 AM

Got up nice and early today for work at 11. Headed in extra early because the buses on a Sunday are gay, met up with other work people at Costas and sat down with them. Then we all headed to work where I was told that I wasn't actually working :( :upset: I should've been out in the sun but I kindly said that I'd stay and cover someone who called in sick. How kind!
It was a pretty good shift. I'm really starting to get along with everyone now, they're more my friends than work collegues now :)

Now I want a bbq but there's no decent bbq food downstairs

Untitled 04-15-2007 10:42 AM

Ive never liked the look of any of the Download festivals.

Leeds ftw.

I too want a BBQ.

I need to right this Essay thing for uni easy get it done tonight, if only i knew wtf i was righting.

WOOOOO new series of Scrapheap Challenge :D:D

2muchket! 04-15-2007 10:43 AM

Download has Killswitch Engage, Iron Maiden, Chimaira, Lamb Of God, Slayer and quite a few other good bands. I'd go for them. Unfortunately I have exam on the monday after and need to revise :(

However I'm going to see Lamb Of God in November at Newcastle Arena. Iced Earth are supporting too. Canny wait. I'm gonna batter my mates in pits should be fun.
you dislike punk ?!
Despise it. It makes me worry about humanity as a whole that the whole scene ever even existed.
Lamb Of God and Mastodon's last album pwned almost every other album last year imo. The only other two albums which came close to it was the Muse's album and Arctic Monkeys debut. And agreed I ahte the kooks and most modern/gangster rap. That said can't beat a bit of Public Enemy or my fav The Streets.
Protest the Hero - Kezia
Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone

2 bands that released amazing albums. Better than Mastodon's I have to say. Haven't heard Lamb of God's but I'm not into them that much.

That said, I think Explosions officially released it in 2007. Kezia still rocked though.

I alsways found explosions a little formulaic, even compared to their contemporaries like mogwai

Morning guys. My last day of freedom until Study Leave :(

jpshortstuff 04-16-2007 06:07 AM

cant wait until study leave. exams scare me now though.

+ i got my driving theory on Wednesday, and i have not looked at that stuff at all yet :-/

Jev 04-16-2007 06:08 AM

I'm recording my music pieces this week.
I'm bricking it. Plus I have MMR injections... yay

jpshortstuff 04-16-2007 06:14 AM

if MMR injections are the ones that make your arms really stiff and achey for a while that might not be good if you have to play guitar to an A-Level standard :-/

i have 2 pieces of Music Tech coursework that have to been shortly after easter, its frustrating that i cant do anything at home on them. i alos have computing coursework for firs week back, that needs a lot of work.

Last minute bodge-jobs ftw

Jev 04-16-2007 06:24 AM

I dunno what they do.
I'm sposed to have 2 cause I didn't have one as a baby.

Pastorius 04-16-2007 07:43 AM

Uuuuuurgh I have an exam on Saturday and I really don't want to revise for it. But I will fail it if I don't, and it does count towards my degree, it's just so uninspiring.

If my degree has taught me anything, it's that I don't want to be a scientist.
