So, there's a mouse running around my house. We saw it for the first time last night where it was trying to get put from behind the TV without getting seen. Well, my parents did see it and then my mom said jokingly to my sister to get our cat, my sister gets the cat and she puts the cat behind the TV. The mouse ran like a son of a bitch and we didn't know where it went. About an hour ago I went downstairs to see my cat eyeing down our stove. Since my cat is dying(and getting put down tomorrow) I thought maybe she was going insane(my dog before she got putdown would stare at the wall). I sat there to see if there was a reason she was staring at the stove and then the stove started squeaking. So, the mouse is either stuck underneath our stove or stuck with all the pans. We set up 2 mouse traps today, so we're hoping to get the mouse.
Sorry about your cat. I bet the cat could get it though. I have alittle Yorkie and I know he can probably catch mice because it's what he was trained to do in the 1900's! He's damn good at eatting spiders and clawing them to death, it has to be my favorite thing about him. |
My cat is fat... very fat. Like it's fat drags the ground. I would take picture's if I had a camera.
|
We would if it would leave our house. If it gets stuck in the trap and is still alive (doubtfully) then I will let it live.
Do you have the "sticky glue" traps or the old fashion cartoon traps that snap? |
If you release the mouse after trapping it, it will come back.
|
If you release the mouse after trapping it, it will come back.
I've never heard of that ever happening. Mice/rats are very sophisticated in evasion and learning patterns. If a mouse gets stuck in an oldfashion snap trap, it's most likely DEAD or crippled. The sticky traps aren't any good in my opinion though. Mice who get only one limb stuck in the glue are known for chewing off their own limbs just to escape. Plus those traps mostly catch bugs more then anything else. |
Well, this cat is really sick and hasn't ate anything in about a week. We thought maybe it would go after the mouse because it would be something up her alleyway. When I told my mom about the mouse under the oven, she put a mousetrap near there and scared the cat away. If my cat stayed there, I think she would have pounced on it.
EDIT: We have a plastic mouse trap. It's more of a box, but when the mouse steps in the trap to get the peanut butter(my mom used that instead of cheese) the little button the touch will move and the lid will come down and the mouse will most likely be half in, half out. So, it's probably dead once it's near that trap. |

Every mouse my family has ever caught has been in sticky traps. But mice seek warmth, so unless you're taking it a good distance away, it'll come back. It knows where its home is. |

Not last winter, but the one before a family(and I mean family) of mice were living in my shed. They chewed a hole in the wood just under the door and they tore everything apart that was in the shed. Before last winter I got and old hockey stick and nailed it down right in front of the door where they were chewing. Last spring, I looked and saw that their were bite marks in the stick but, only a bit, so they ended up giving up.

It is important to release the mouse promptly - as they can die from stress - and at some distance, as mice have a strong homing instinct. - Wikipedia |

No, because they kill the mouse extremely quickly and painlessly. Unlike sticky traps, which starve the thing to death :) |

The best way to kill a mouse is to get out your Gat, or maybe even 9, and get in it's grill and yell "Brace yo'self, nigga" Then speed off with it's car after pumpin' it full of lead. Bring your switchblade just incase shanking is needed. |

It's funny how everyone loves Against Me now when a couple of years ago they were only well known among punk fans. How times change.

Damn, the Roots were amazing. Everyone in that band is totally savage at what they do. Damn.

Such a sick band. Dan says they're his new favourite band. |
They are.
I've been listening to them for a while but before i wasn't a huge fan and didn't give much time listening to them put for the apst 4 months or so i've been mad on 'em. As the eternal cowboy is as good as Reinventing Axl Rose but Searching for a former clarity isn't anyway near as good. |
