I was really surprised how good Stormcrowfleet is, I hate Farmakon. :\

And Subconscious Dissolution Into The Continuum is one of the best funeral doom albums ever.

Angmar 12-08-2007 11:53 AM

Doomsword are fucking awesome, I only have Let Battle Commence though, am I a bad person?

Stormrider 12-08-2007 11:56 AM

I have Doomsword and Resound the Horn. They're both excellent.

I will soon buy Let Battle Commence.

pate 12-08-2007 12:09 PM

I have the ones Jammie has, and they both own.

Angmar 12-08-2007 12:21 PM

Damn you guys need to get Let Battle Commence!

I'll get those other ones too.

ATM 12-08-2007 02:19 PM

What do Doomsword sound like?

I'm getting Stormcrowfleet right now.

dUSK 12-08-2007 07:09 PM
Esoteric is indeed good.
I recommend Subconcious Dissolution Into The Continuum as starters.

w00t.
Recieved Radiance Of Shadows and by Nadja today.
Heh, I downloaded both these albums to check out earlier this week. Both were great.

Did you ever get around to upping that Fallen album?
I'm getting Stormcrowfleet right now.
Good move. :thumb:

Pretty much a folk/viking metal and epic doom combination kind of thing, really awesome.

Eliminator 12-08-2007 08:45 PM

i was going to get Doomsword but i wasn't too sure about the folk/viking part but i'll check them out ELIMINATOR

Angmar 12-08-2007 08:47 PM

They are a lot more doom orientated then folk/viking, at least on Let Battle Commence. The viking thing is more of their theme and such.

Nice.

I completely forgot about the Fallen, sorry mate.
/Gets on it now.

Chris:
Do you also still want the album?
Give me your adress and I'll send you the link. :)

ATM 12-09-2007 09:54 AM

Yes, please.

baerwitness at yahoo.com

thanks :D

the2stranger 12-09-2007 10:24 AM

Send. :)

Enjoy and let me know what you think of it.

ATM 12-09-2007 10:56 AM

Thanks. I finally listened to some Angelic Process. Very, very cool band.

I love the layers in this kind of music.

We need to start up a droney-doom band.

the2stranger 12-09-2007 11:37 AM

Yeah, they layer quite a bit. I love the way you can really drown in the music.

I have my ambient/ambient drone project.
But it's not really going strong, too little time. :(

I would realy love to get something of the ground though.

ATM 12-09-2007 11:39 AM

I'll move to the Netherlands and we can make it happen haha

We can call it Arrest This Stranger.

the2stranger 12-09-2007 11:53 AM

Hahaha.
That sounds pretty good actually.

/Rolls out the carpet and calls the welcoming comitee.

I'll need some more equipement to get my abient drone stuff really of the ground.
At first I need a nice synth, my keyboard has some nice synth features, but it's not a real synth.
I also need some effect pedals and a 16 track recorder, then I should be all set.

EDIT:
I'm listening to Pantheist.
It's been ages since I last listened to them, but they are so good actually.
For people that enjoy Fallen, Pantheist is certainly worth your time.

np: Pantheist - Apologeia

dUSK 12-09-2007 03:21 PM

O Solitude is the only Panthiest I have, but it's fantastic. Are their other releases as good?

Thanks for the upload, Peter. I'm plundering it now. :D
I finally listened to some Angelic Process.
Apparently they released an awesome album this year. I've been meaning to look into it, but haven't.

Shattered_Future 12-09-2007 04:02 PM

My Worship and The Ocean albums finally finished downloading. Need to check out both later.

Their self titled album has some folk-ish moments, unlike Resound the Horn.

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 08:56 PM

i dont really listen to doom much, as i've stated i'm a doom noob but someone recommended me some Unholy and i finally got around to listening today, i thought it was great. do you guys like them?

pate 12-09-2007 09:23 PM

Never heard

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 09:27 PM

good stuff, the one i got was called From the Shadows. the songs are a bit lengthy i thought but the band is pretty good at keeping it interesting most of the time. lots of acoustic interludes too, it was worth the time for sure.

I love Amartia. Very good funeral doom, with the occasional blast beat even.
I feel sorry for missing them, some time back.
It was a free gig to make it worse. :(

Get that TAP release, it's called Weighing Souls With Sand and it's my favorite album of 2007.

Deathcrush 12-10-2007 11:44 AM

NP: The Funeral Orchestra - We Are the End

I've been listening to a couple of releases out of my rather small death-doom and funeral-doom collection in the past couple of days.

ATM 12-10-2007 11:44 AM

The vocals in Pantheist put me off, a bit. I don't like those style of really deep vocals.

Txus 12-10-2007 11:48 AM

Deathcrush: Feeding the Abyss is a great album.
