LoneStarDrummer 05-02-2007 04:22 PM

You are ****ing kidding me.

They have more life to them than any hats I've played. Most hats are all tinny and ****, these have ****ing balls to them.

Neg rep to you!

LoneStarDrummer 05-02-2007 04:38 PM

They are a bit boring like.

Static 05-02-2007 05:30 PM

Yeah.

The only Zildjian hihats that are better than New Beats are...um...

...

..

.

Im gonna have to go with Mastersounds or Quick Beats on this one.

mario_y2k 05-02-2007 06:01 PM

Hey thanks for your advices so far. Right now I play with my first ever owned hihats which are some crappy zildjian zbt and by the way are cracked so anything would be better really...

Seafroggys 05-03-2007 12:23 AM

Seriously, most hats I've played have been very 'crisp' and tight and high pitched....very one dimensional for me. New Beats have 'balls' to them, they're very deep and beefy sounding. I don't see how anybody can think they're so one dimensional.

[QUOTE=Drum Phil;14609663]This is the recording pete made of it before i bought it.

Nice. I just bought one of those, they said they shipped it already so it should be arriving soon. That audio sounded pretty nice. Also I accidentally got a Paiste Cup Chime as well. So now I will have 2 bells to choose from.

Dammit now I have to go get a new stand or a cymbal arm or something since I only have one extra stand...

My brother wants a cheap(ish) crash or ride.

He has a crash/ride at the moment so needs either-or. I'd say a crash would be better because crashes are loud and loud is rock'n'roll, but he seems to think a ride would be better.

Am I right in thinking that a cheap Zildjian/Sabian (say ~£80) would be better than a £40 Stagg or something? I don't really know any brand names, but those two stand out obviously.

Yeah help.

Thanks.

MeaninglessPhoto 05-12-2007 10:32 AM

He cant get much for that amount, but he can check out used cymbals. Have him check out a Zildjian Sweet or Medium ride. They for around 200+ USD so used will have to be his main option.

ant_182 05-12-2007 10:43 AM

Would the K Med. Thin Crash sound nice with a Thin version? What sound differences would there be?

Static 05-12-2007 12:35 PM

Yes.

The Thin will be quicker and brighter.

saars 05-18-2007 11:32 PM

Ok, I think I'm getting a bit sick of my 18" AAXplosion, and I want something a lot warmer and not as cutting, something for jazz but also good enough for rock. Also, something to match my K Custom Hybrid. Any thoughts?

Static 05-18-2007 11:37 PM

17" K Dark Thin Crash.
