I made the same stencil (almost) but I need fabric paint to do it, because my spraypaint will not work at all.

Do you use spray-on fabric paint or liquid with a roller?

DaveToopes 04-07-2006 08:46 PM

@asdf: that looks great.

Liebensaft 04-07-2006 09:12 PM

Very nice.

mullets suk 04-08-2006 06:57 AM

when useing fabric paint does it mess it up if you go over it in diffrent colors. like let a blue dry, then paint over that with a red. so are there any ill effects of doing something like that.

Flagjacket 04-08-2006 07:47 AM

Why would you do that?

mullets suk 04-08-2006 12:02 PM
Why would you do that?
i want to make an REM shirt, for the song "Radio Free Europe". To do this i want to have a pic of mainland Europe with a radio tower thing rising out of it. so i was thinking it would be easyer if i painted Europe first then the radio tower over that. thus i would need to paint over already painted area.

thats why im wondering if covering fabric paint with a diffrent color fabric paint will hurt the shirt/image.

Flagjacket 04-08-2006 01:04 PM

Ah. Well, I'm sure if you let it dry then it'd be fine, but don't trust me.

mullets suk 04-08-2006 01:16 PM

crap, so i did the frount of the nimrods shirt like a few min. ago. well i spilt a little black cloth paint on it. to fix this i decided to draw a black line all the way around the bottom of the shirt. i did most of the frount, but it looks like crap.

i was wondering if bleach pens will be able to take out the black line. if not crap.

Ghostfire3 04-08-2006 01:24 PM

That's unfortunate. Pix?

mullets suk 04-08-2006 01:43 PM

k, so heres the shirt. im still not done, and the line on the bottom is what i am trying to get rid of. This is my first DIY shirt ever so, it really suks. ill post pics of the finished shirt, when im completely done and the line is gone.(if worse comes to worse, ill take some white paint and re-color the line.)

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/h-drix/Nimrodsmess.jpg

i made the stencils myself, so the circled A is very uneven. I also did the stencils on paper so i cant redo the images on a diffrent shirt. :(

on the back (if the line comes out) it will say "THE NIMRODS"

You could probably fix it with bleach since the shirt is white.

mullets suk 04-08-2006 02:42 PM

so the bleach pen didnt work. actully made it worse. it bleed to the other side. the last option i have is to color the black parts white using white fabric paint. im really pissed right now, cause if that dont work im goin to have to re-stencils the circle A and the three words. its not hard, but its a bitch to do. i may not even bother redoing it. ****

Danger Bird 04-08-2006 04:22 PM

Not to get you down any more, but you spelled "too" wrong.

mullets suk 04-08-2006 05:52 PM

 :upset: danm

AIRIC 04-08-2006 05:58 PM

you just spelled damn wrong. are you kidding me? it's one 4 letter word.

Ghostfire3 04-08-2006 06:03 PM

I can only hope he did that on purpose in order to attempt some sort of joke. If it was, indeed, a joke then I say to you that grammar is no joke!

Flagjacket 04-08-2006 06:05 PM

Actually all his "to"s were right.

I use silkscreen paint and do that kind of stuff all the time. I just let it dry first. It should work, but if you're extremely worried test it out on a scrap of fabric or something.

Danger Bird 04-08-2006 06:22 PM

How so?
Edit: to Flagjacket

Flagjacket 04-08-2006 06:33 PM

Read his post, they're all right.

Danger Bird 04-08-2006 06:36 PM

I still don't get it.

how do you get silkscreen paint? and how much does it cost?

iam2000pounds 04-09-2006 01:18 PM
how do you get silkscreen paint
At a store.

Danger Bird 04-09-2006 02:30 PM

All right, so I need a way to put something else on top of my PE shirt. I've got my Marley stencil on there in black, and I can't just spray the whole thing black with another colour on top because with spraypaint nothing shows up on top of black. Hmm... quite the sticky situation.

DaveToopes 04-09-2006 03:02 PM

Buy a new shirt so you don't look like a hippie.
