Meh, I don't believe we were discussing whether the songs were good though...

Lightning_Rider 10-03-2005 10:26 PM

Hey guys, I don't really post in here but I love Megadeth :D .

Anyways I looked a few pages back but I didn't see anything relating to this so I'll bring it up here.

What's with the big announcement or whatever Dave has planned for his show in Argentina? The way he's been talking on the Megadeth site it seems as if Megadeth's going to be finished? And it sounds like Mustaine is either gonna go solo or have a new band?

Does anyone have an speculation on what's most likely to happen? I don't want Megadeth to retire, they (even though it's basically Mustaine now) are awesome :(

MAthiAS 10-03-2005 10:29 PM

What's not to get?

I dunno, I was just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on this...

I don't think he'll be going completely solo - he'll either have a solo project AND continue megadeth, or just continue megadeth. if he was to announce the end of megadeth, it would be most unwise for him to do so at a MEGADETH CONCERT, dontcha think?

and yes, i realize that megadeth has basically always been a solo project of mustaine, with the switching of lineups and such, i guess a real solo project would just be non-metal stuff that doesn't need the megadeth name on it.

I don't know, I hope he continues with Megadeth. It's kind of 50/50. He's not really saying anything before he announces it.

lightningmetal666 10-04-2005 12:10 PM

Well I wish him well whatever he decides to do. It would kinda kill this thread though if he did disband Megadeth.

Father_Jack 10-04-2005 12:28 PM

I'm want them to stay together so I can see them live more than wanting a new album. Although a new megadeth album would rock.

lightningmetal666 10-04-2005 01:08 PM

I want to see them live but my finances say that'll happen when hell freezes over. :upset:

I hate being broke.

MAthiAS 10-04-2005 01:27 PM

I don't care about seeing them live in venues where I end up a football field away from them.

Ice Man 10-04-2005 01:38 PM

wats up what do you guys think of glen drover?

There's a Pantera thread...

He's cool. He plays guitar right? I forget the new members 'cos they all look the same.

if thats the guy at the concert he can wail from what i saw, but i couldent really hear it over the bass :upset:

Jev 10-04-2005 02:51 PM

Megadeth always have one quiet guitar when they play live :-/

I think that has to do with where you are. If you're on the left, you'll hear the guitar on the left louder, likewise the other way around.

Yeha I think that has something to do with it, but on Live recordings you can barely hear the lead guitar.
Also download wa sopen air and the wind was blowing and it sounded rather dodgey.

That band's kinda dead too..... (no disrespecful pun to Dime intended)

The Cannibal Corpse thread is flourishing nicely.

MAthiAS 10-04-2005 07:29 PM

The difference is that Pantera sucks/ed.

clairvoyant 10-04-2005 07:44 PM

I like Cowboys From Hell, but thats about it.

Lightning_Rider 10-04-2005 08:12 PM

Not big on Pantera either, but I haven't heard that many songs from them.

smart blockhead 10-04-2005 08:16 PM

There's also a Led Zeppelin thread. They have now been broken up for 25 years.

That's why I said it. You said Dave ending Megadeth would end this thread.

Jev 10-05-2005 10:36 AM

Either way it's good.

Enlighten Me 10-05-2005 10:42 AM

As if Mustaine has got anything better to do :)

You ever heard MD.45 his other band/solo project?
They're very good, not much like Megadeth but still good.
