so is converge an acquired taste, or a band that you either love or hate the first time around? i seriously dont remember how i felt about them to begin with (given that i adore them now)

And Jacob Bannon uses his voice as a textual instrument and fits with the music perfectly. I suggest you listen to the song Jane Doe when Bannon sings clean; it melds perfectly for the music sonically and thematically.

i hated converge the first time i heard them (You Fail Me), then i grew to love them after listening to Jane Doe

First Converge album I heard was Unloved And Weeded Out, so Downpour was my introduction, and still is my favorite Converge song, well tied with Orphaned and Heaven In Her Arms.

It's good but for some reason I really love Drop Out. It's from my least favourite album but dang its cool.

converge is, unfortunately, one of those bands i've gotten into purely by downloading their albums, so i never learned the names of their songs, so i always feel left out when people namedrop, but then i listen to the songs in question and i'm like "fück yeah"
