My Ping ride fell on my head today haha. I forgot that I forgot to put the counterweight on the stand and the stand tipped over and if you wanna be funny about it, it "crashed" on my head.

*is in pain*

Brokensticks 02-13-2007 07:25 PM

Cymbal stand.

the head broke off the fan, and the metal rod that sticks up in the middle that has a gear to turn the fan blade is a good size for a cymbal.

I just had to buy some rubber hose at Home depot that fit over it.

Little Android Man 02-13-2007 07:45 PM

thats using your resources..

pics please?

Past your bed time lil boy?

The Chemist 02-13-2007 08:01 PM

I'm matt and i'm an alchohlic

and I hate work

here's the story:

I'm between engineering jobs (Audio Engineer, Post-Production for music(mix/master)), and I got this job working in the maintenance department of a grocery store called the Fredericton Direct Charge Co-Op. The job is pretty sweet, just normaly mop, sweep, change lightbulbs, and change garbages. So today I started my garbage run as normal (at 7pm AST), first changing the garbages in the employee lunchroom (which blows cause the employees make more mess than the customers do), then the lage washrooms (we have 2 washroom sets, one in the very back of the store, one at the lunch bar for customers). All was going fine until I got to the Lunch Bar washrooms. Someone had shit all over the floor in the men's washroom (the thick, syropy stuff). That took about 10 minutes to clean up off the floor. Then I got to the womens washroom. All went fine, until I had to change the ragbag (it doesn't take a genius ti know what a rag is, does it?). I removed the bag from the container, but as I got it out, the botem of the ragbag broke. So now there's about 20 rags on the floor, and about 20 women outside the washroom waiting to use it. So It took me about 1/2 hout to clean up the mess (involving javez, gripping claws, a facemask and a pair of rubber glove (the industrial kind)). My question is, why can't women just flush thier rags down the shitter?

Win A Rabbit 02-13-2007 10:10 PM

My friend just took me for a ride and showed me the song his band recorded yesterday. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was definately more than I was expecting. Somewhere between "Kezia" and "Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation".

Not my first choice of a band, definately, but they know I write songs constantly, and he said he'd like to get me in there working on some songs with them, so I guess there's some room for variation.

The Ska Man 02-13-2007 10:12 PM

Sup Baby?

I've been answering the phone like that, it's a joke between some friends..anyways, my pops called once..it was...odd.
DW9000 hardware is overkill.
Def. DW5000 is all you need.

And to Led Zep, yes i do still need that crash, i have 4 of them on ebay all ending within a week so hopefully i can get one of those for $130-$140 which means <$150 with shipping.

And i will definitely let you guys know when i buy it and receive it. I have tons of crap that i haven't posted like from Christmas and i haven't posted my kit in a long time. I will also make a thread for it so you don't need to ask, haha.

Quoted from a foriegn forum.
I used to be in a band with this guy that I would consider a pretty good friend. We have since moved off to college and the band has fallen apart. He used to play bass with us. He gives me a call a few days ago and tells me he won a drum set. I was ok with this until he tells me that he won Underoath's Aaron Gillespie's drum set from the warped tour.

Underoath is a big hard rock band here in the states. This is a big deal. This is a Truth Custom made drum set for Aaron. Aaron played this set for most of their 2006 shows and on the WArped Tour. He won this from Hot Topic and some contest they were doing. Now my ex-bass player has a custom drum set that I was very envious of. He finally received it yesterday and I was standing by ready to help set it up and help play it.

It came in a dryer box that looked like it had been beaten by a baseball bat. We opened the box and inside were the drums packed in newspaper. Once the drums were out of the box, it got even worse. They were rusted, worn down, some were chipped up and cracked, and some pieces were held together with duct tape. They were covered in dirt and there was a dead frog inside of the bass drum.

I felt that this was ridiculous. This drummer just took his expensive kit that some fan won and put it in an old box without cleaning it up at all and shipped it out. The set just came with the shells and none of the hardware. Luckily his brother had a beginner's drum set that we could borrow some pieces off of. I just think this was degrading. The drums were not taken care of at all and they were just packed up and shipped. I don't mean to rant but I think a little more effort could have been put forth. I'll put some pictures up tomorrow.
Thats just rediculous. I may make a thread about this when the pictures do infact arrive.
