Hello Classic Rockers, long time no see maybe.
I was about to ask this in the R&M Community, but I had a feeling they wouldn't know. The other day I was at a parent's evening, and I was told that my music performance was just "OK", even though I thought it was good. The song is "Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe", and I kinda thought it was alright to pick up marks. But I've been told I need to do something more complicated to pick up more marks. So being the non-defeatist I am, I came home t'other day, and banged out some tunes on my 12 string guitar, and I realised, a great song to do would be a LOVE one. Although I have most albums of their's, I thought it'd be fitting to do one off Forever Changes, cause' it has such a nice ammount of 12 string guitar. Now, all I ask, which do you think I should do? Top of my list at the moment are: #1: The Red Telephone, #2: Alone Again Or, #3: Daily Planet, #4: Maybe The People Would Be The Times Or Between Clark And Hilldale, #5: The Good Humor Man He Sees Everything Like This. What do you think? I'm sure you'll all understand my situation, and let me stick it to this music teacher.! EDIT: More important is, this has to be recorded between Monday the 3rd of April to Wednesday the 5th of April. |
Alone Again Or, definitely. That's my favorite song on Forever Changes by a long shot.
I just got DP 24 :D I may upload it and 22 eventually. |
My top 5 classic bands:

Jimi Hendrix
The Beatles
Eric Clapton/Cream
The Allman Brothers
AC/DC
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and CCR were also considered. |

Just my thinking though, I'll carry on having a look.:) |

Red and Discipline are pretty good after that, though I don't like them as much as the first album.
|
I've been listening to a ton of Barenaked Ladies tonight. They're so awesome.
|
The only song I really like on In The Court of The Crimson King is 21st Century Schizoid Man. I like Red a Discipline more.

I've never posted in here. But I'm listening to Elephant Mountain by Youngbloods right now, and it's sweet. It's the first classic rock record I've gotten in a really long time. Good folk rock with bits of psychedelica.
|
Yea it's a pretty good album, my dad has it.

Hmm. Posting in R&M. How 2002 of me. |
My friend just bought a Hammond Organ for fifty bucks from Value Village yesterday...we have been having some seriously awesome jams now!
Bob Dylan Pink Floyd The Beatles The Doors The Grateful Dead My list is kinda lame actually, there's really no one semi-suprising on my list. edit - Anyone who's into blues in this thread should check out this guys improv piece he posted in the Guitar section. It's really good. It's near the bottom of the first page I think...not exactly sure, but I thought it was great. |
thats fricken awesome, I want to get a Hammond B3, an Electric Rhodes, and a Minimoog!

I've got a pretty awesome organ...it was my great grandmothers, she passed a while a few years ago and it was just sitting in some relatives house getting unused so they offered it to me. My mom won't let me take it to my friends garage though because she just knows it's in the middle of the hood and all we do is get baked there all day and night and jam out...it's not like I'm gonna break it or even get it a touch dirty. Man I am soo high right now and I'm listening to Tomorrow Never Knows, and I have to leave for basketball practice right now. My mom just informed me that she wants me to drive...this is the ultimate test. Wish me luck!!! Haha!! |

Pink Floyd Grateful Dead The Beatles Jack Johnson Neil Young The Who I bet you didn't know that Jacaphaggit.
I knew all of them minus Neil Young, didn't figure you for a big Neil fan. Speaking of which would people consider Harvest to be one of his better albums's? I want to get a friend into Neil but I don't know what album is generally considered his best. |

I'll upload After the Goldrush. It got me into Neil. Good mix of acoustic folk and then rock like Southern Man. |
Harvest, On The Beach, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (my personal favorite), and After the Goldrush (just for Southern Man alone) are all good starting points.

Harvest is a marvelous acoustic album, but for me, nothing can replace After The Goldrush. The songs are simple, and beautiful. The title track might be his all time best. |
You like ELP*, the Beatles, Neil Young, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd and George Harrison I'm thinking.
ELO* ;-) And way to go check out my last fm, haha. I think I can safely say Trans-Siberian Orchestra is up there in my favorite bands now. |
Neil Young
Pink Floyd Grateful Dead Bob Dylan The Doors Too typical. :( |
I'll use non-rappers because no one here wants to see that
Miles Hendrix Coltrane Funkadelic Curtis Mayfield Marley |
I thought only n00bs hate rap now.
Seeing that most regulars like atleast one rapper/rap band. |
I suppose.
