AndreTheHyena 02-20-2006 12:29 AM

I'm playing a show tomorrow. It's gonna rule, 8 songs in under 20 minutes. It's an "open mic" thing, but instead my friend on drums and I are gonna tear off peoples heads and piss down their necks with punk-rock-hillbilly-stomp...

Setlist is...
"Monkey Song" (friend's original)
"Lake Song"
"Pretty Boy Floyd" (Guthrie cover)
"Ramblin' Man" (Hank cover)
"Can't Seem to See the Light"
"Bones and Steam"
"Missouri Nights"
"Eve of Destruction" (Barry McGuire cover)

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 12:34 AM

Ramblin' Man is such an awesome song.

Is this Las Cruces/Andrew Thomas playing?

AndreTheHyena 02-20-2006 12:35 AM

Yessir. Anything I'm involved in is automatically "Las Cruces".

_JR 02-20-2006 12:37 AM

nick the flag went fine nothing happened at all except for a few stares we got. it looked so sweet though

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 12:41 AM

You need to record some more stuff. I'd love hear your cover of Ramblin' Man.
nick the flag went fine nothing happened at all except for a few stares we got. it looked so sweet though
Nice man.

AndreTheHyena 02-20-2006 12:47 AM

My friend Nick wants to record a bunch of old standards, a la "Ramblin' Man", "May the Circle Be Unbroken", etc, but we'll see. I'm moving to Nashville on Wednesday to record, but I'd really like to get all of my original material laid down first.

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 01:32 AM

Orginial material is good. You guys are good ****.

AndreTheHyena 02-20-2006 01:41 AM

Thanks man. I really dislike all of my old recordings. Wait'll you hear this new ****, it's off the hook. My songwriting/singing/playing skills have all changed and gotten better. I'm really excited.

sketchyjoe 02-20-2006 02:00 AM

You stuff is cool Andre. I'd love to hear more.

May 5th:

F.V.K./CRO-MAGS 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AGE OF QUARREL TOUR
featuring original members John Joseph and Mackie, AJ (Leeway) and Scott (Biohazard) ONLY performing Age Of Quarrel in it’s entirety plus selected Bad Brains tracks plus BETRAYED featuring members of Champion, Carry On and Stand & Fight

And I think Latterman are playing on the 10th and 25th April too.

coheneran 02-20-2006 04:34 AM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The Anarchist Collective has a myspace blog. What a bunch of kids. That's the last place we'd do a blog. Don't you guys have riseupnet or hacklab?

Ninja EDIT: Joe. Where?

sketchyjoe 02-20-2006 04:58 AM

The Cro-Mags is at The Underworld. Latterman are playing at the Grey Horse and the Windmill according to Household Name.

coheneran 02-20-2006 05:33 AM

Ah. If you make lots of patches and contact the Underworld beforehand you can usually get in for free.

coheneran 02-20-2006 08:52 AM

Google Earth is no fun when they censor Guantanamo Bay base and parts of Iraq and Palestine.

AIRIC 02-20-2006 08:58 AM

sup sweetie.,

coheneran 02-20-2006 09:00 AM

Trying to find Faslane Detention Centre in Scotland, as well as the nuclear weapons development facility in Essex (I think). There are bits all over the world (including Britain, and something in the middle of the Nevada Desert) that have a weird lighter coloured square over them, as if they've been edited. Most of Iraq is like that.

I've had Worker's Song stuck in my all day.

Check out www.operationivy.com

They have a few pictures of the band reuniting (for business matters, not musical).

Responding to posts a few pages back, I go to the movies constantly. Maybe 5 times a month on average.

You said you love Erik Petersen's solo work but hadn't checked out Mischief Brew.

Mischief Brew IS Erik Petersen's solo work.

DaveToopes 02-20-2006 12:54 PM

Oh... I though that the stuff under "Erik Petersen" was his solo stuff.

sketchyjoe 02-20-2006 12:55 PM

That is also his solo stuff but there's not much of it. Only a split LP with Robert Blake.

His only stuff with a band is with The Orphans.

Liebensaft 02-20-2006 12:57 PM

Speaking of that, does anyone have that Orphans album? I almost bought it when I went to see him not long ago. I got a shirt instead.

DaveToopes 02-20-2006 12:57 PM

Oh, okay. Well thank you for the correction sir. I'll only have to look dumb once.

obese_breasts 02-20-2006 01:12 PM

Joe, there is a gift for you in the House of Peter Jennings.

He's got live bootlegs under Petersen too.

Liebensaft 02-20-2006 01:24 PM

Like the one at the Punx Picnic.

I didn't know Philadelphia had one of those. I gotsta find out about it and go.

DaveToopes 02-20-2006 01:26 PM

I feel like a dummy now.

The dogs barking during the first song is really annoying. Pretty cool set though.

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 02:20 PM

The dog barks throughout the entire set.

DaveToopes 02-20-2006 02:20 PM

I kind of like the barking dog.

Daniel! 02-20-2006 02:26 PM
The dog barks throughout the entire set.
But it bothers me most during the first song.
