Oh yeah, I own Smoke or Fire too. Oh and Alk3. I guess I have a lot of em :p

EDIT: And Finch.

Mute Print 11-09-2005 05:30 PM

The only albums I don't have from the polls are Brian Eno, Weezer, Sufjan Stevens, and Left Alone.

The rest I have on my computer.

Dead Star 11-09-2005 05:30 PM

I have Coheed, Weezer and Alk3.

Go me.

I was talking about albums I own on CD...pirate.

I haven't been very compelled to post here lately. MX has become boring :upset:

Puma 11-09-2005 05:32 PM

Buying CD's is lame. I still buy some, but they're so expensive, and most of the time I can't find what I want anyway.

I know what ya mean. I haven't been posting all that much as of late either.

Says the PPOTM...pfft.

Kevin: I rarely spend over $10 on a CD. You just gotta be a smart shopper :p

And having used CD shops close by helps

I don't own many albums on CD, because I spend too much money on shows.

But if I listen to an album I downloaded, and then pay to see the band in concert, then it's almost the same as buying the CD... :p

We have a used CD store near ny, but they don't have a wide selection outside of the hip-hop genre. I bought two CD's yesterday. 25 bucks. I already had the CD's on my computer, but I figured I'd buy them anyway. I wanted more too, but I couldn't even find anything. It just feels like such a waste.

I spend too much money on music, shows CDs and merch (and instruments) :(

At first I read that as "in the hip-hop genre" and I was like "So?" Oops. But yeah, that's overpriced. I usually get 4 CDs for that price.

B 11-09-2005 05:45 PM

I get about 1 cd for 24 bucks. Canadian. But still. I buy cd's if it's an album that is really outstanding. Or I respect the band and feel like spending money.

Mute Print 11-09-2005 05:46 PM

I plan on buying Ruiner when I see A Wilhelm Scream next week.

I'd say I'd rate about 70% of the albums I own as 4.5-5 stars. Maybe I'm just an easy judge :-\ Or else I own a lot of outstanding music
I plan on buying Ruiner when I see A Wilhelm Scream next week.
Good call. I got my copy for $5, but I'd be willing to pay $10 for it, excellent album.

B 11-09-2005 05:47 PM

I'd rather buy band clothing than cds. Then I can show off my hxc-ness to all the people in my town that think Thrice and Thursday are the most underground bands ever.

Vince: All my albums I own are, for me, at least a 4.5.

Puma 11-09-2005 05:48 PM

I think, when I buy a CD it's probably at least 4 stars. But sometimes I get sick of a CD and it just ends up laying in my backseat.

I do both. I've probably picked up 20 new band shirts this year :-\

Yeah, but you don't own 300 CDs or so :p (Plus I outgrew some of the bands sort of, like Limp Bizkit, not bad, just less good than it used to be)

EDIT: Off to band, bye kids

I don't have the money to do both or I would. When I get a job I'll be so glad to have the extra money to buy stuff with.

Later.

I just figured out today that I like P!ATD, and the Early November, got both cds today. Both very good bands IMO.

I always manage to. I've actually been wanting that one for a while.

Edit: Does anyone know of a website that's good for finding tours coming through your area?

form 11-09-2005 06:42 PM

I need a website aswell, its this one where you type in a band, and it shows you bands that are similair to the band you typed in. Thanks for anyhelp.

B 11-09-2005 06:46 PM

http://last.fm

Just click a band and it shows you similar bands, if you find someone that likes a prticular kind of music you can also check to see what else they like. Good for broadening your musical taste.

form 11-09-2005 06:49 PM

Sweet thanks.

Mute Print 11-09-2005 07:13 PM

I just found out that the club I go to all the time added another show:

December 11th - Halifax / Punchline / I Am The Avalanche / The Fully Down

I think this is going to be my fourth or fifth time seeing Punchline. <3

cbmartinez 11-09-2005 07:17 PM

I might catch that Hopesfall tour when it comes here. Shame the other two bands are terrible.

B 11-09-2005 07:18 PM
