Holy christ. My uncles funeral only cost $7,500.

My coffin is going to be at least that. I want it custom, hardwood cherry with black nickel handles, red velvet lining, and a big platinum cross over the lid.

I haven't decided on what I want inscribed above my face, though.

$7,500 seems kinda expensive to get the place to have the funeral, pay the priest guy, and buy the coffin. I didnt know they were that expensive. Crazy.

Gravestones range a lot, but I'd say his was about $800. Embalming was about $350, preparation was about $200, transportation including the hearse $200, cemetary plot was about $700, $500 to dig and close the hole. He was viewed for three days, thursday, friday, and saturday, and then was buried on a Sunday.
That was maybe about $1,500 for that. The rest went towards the party afterwards.


Funerals are expensive. If you're a cheap a[B]s[/B]s, just get creamated because it's like $500.

The reason I want a nice casket is because I take comfort in life knowing that I'll be comfortable in death. Even if I'm not aware of it when it does come, it's still the principle of it now that I enjoy.

Edit 2: I'm probably not going to have a family to put into debt. I plan to start paying off my casket in about 15 years, after I've payed off enough of my house. I just hope I don't die soon.

I want my organs to be used to save peoples lives and then for them to cremate me and spread my ashes over someplace special to me.
