Never actually heard of him.
I'm looking for ways to order this cool jazz album from America without paying through the nerve endings for postage. |
hahaha find a friend over there to buy it for you?
and i think youd like bon iver, its just him and an acoustic guitar mostly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bon_Iver |
I've got an album of his (/theirs?) to listen to, but haven't yet. The mere mention of autotune has already put me off a bit.
Also Matt, you are good with words, I've seen other posts (can't remember any in particular) that could make clever, hard-hitting lyrics. I really like those types, but don't I hear them nearly enough in songs. |
Haha Horseman, that's genius. Then they have to pay the postage to here. I like it. I think I can afford one jazz album a month if it's an overseas purchase. I might check for Australian stockists though.
Check them out they're good http://nickhemptonband.com |
according to the facebook quiz 'what's your key signature' i am apparently B minor.
The rebel of all key signatures. B Minors are melancholic and dark like E Majors, but they turn this trait inwards and expresses this through violence and deviance. B minors are the most in-touch with reality of all key signatures, which is probably why they see the **** in this world more clearly than any other key signatures. They are the face of rock, metal, grunge, and (eww) emo bands, as well as troubled poets and other artists everywhere. Because of their dark and somewhat violent nature, B Minors are usually misunderstood and have few, if any friends. Healthier and more stable B Minors can resemble E Majors, which are also their closest friends. B Minors can help A Majors snap out of their delusions. B Minors should learn to lighten up and not keep themselves in the dark. |
Haha.
That's less irritating to read than I expected it would be. Surprising it doesn't play up the obvious compatability that a B Minor person should have with a D Major person. I wonder how it'd decide which person was which of those. |

im not a massive fan of autotune but the way he did it with this song is really cool. like its all a capella, and it starts off with just him saying this line then slowly he overdubs it over and over and autotunes each layer differently so it sounds heaps cool check it out here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZYVJlhnqxQ but thats the only song of his that really uses autotune, he kinda uses it in the background but not very much at all in a couple of his songs. he grew on me heaps in the last couple of weeks |
Auto-tune should only be used for purposes of irony and satire. For those it's a godsend.
Cute song. Definitely saved him money on hiring a choir. |
i think its cool if its used like in a way that hes done it...like if a person who has a really good voice uses it to try some new sound or something i enjoy it
if its some crappy pop song by someone that cant sing i dont enjoy it i think of it like a heaps good guitar player like steve vai or something using effects pedals |
Well, it'd be like Steve Vai using a pedal that would press the frets for him but yeah I know what you mean.
|
Easter's fair boring hey.
|
i didn't even get any chocolate :(
|
Man there's this kid on my street and his parents actually take chocolate away from him on Easter. Never seen any kid look so hard for it.
|
awww haha so they take whatever chocolate he has? or just not give him any?.
when i was growing up my parents used to hide it and my sister and i would have to find it. one time they were outside. which helped us in believing in the easter bunny. |
Yeah my concept was that he usually has chocolate but they take it haha. Poor imaginary kid.
I'd love to get to try to trick children for fun. Make some fake bunny prints. Remember the Easter Bilby? |
i remember it. but don't remember ever getting any chocolate versions of it though.
imaginary kid? |
Yeah man noone on my street is stealing chocolate from their kids (that I'm aware of).
|
lol why would you lie about such a serious issue like chocolate stealing?
lindt chocolate is half price tomorrow according to my mum so i might buy some of that for her |
To cover up the real crimes I commit.
:amaze: |
i'm ip tracing you and the cops are on their way to your place now
i'm an undercover fbi agent and shiz edit: they aren't really. and i'm not an fbi agent. continue on your day normally. but don't commit any more crimes! |

Oh okay. Hopefully it's all good. What brand of cab?

Sure is, but its about 2 or 3 years old so doesn't look quite as nice.
|
Cool man, let us know how it sounds. When does it arrive? If it sounds good and works fine then I'd say you got a good deal for certain.
|
I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'm meeting the guy about an hour north which is about an hour south of his place so it's pretty nice of him and means I don't have to drive too far.
|
Yeah that's a fine compromise.
Should meet him in the desert halfway between two cities on the highway haha. Trunk to trunk cargo swap. |
And I'm paying him cash
|
Ahh, the old Weetbix tin full of unmarked non-sequential bills. A baker's ransom they call it.
