i just got back from an Air concert. it was ****ing raaaaaad they had five dudes on stage doing like tons of stuff. the drummer was amazing. their encore closed with La Femme d'Argent, after jammin on it for like ten minutes. lord almighty that bassline is one of my favorites of all time

most interesting song was Run... its one of my favorites of theirs but i did not expect them to play it. amazing

ATM 05-09-2007 11:23 PM

i wanted to go :-/

perriwinkle 05-09-2007 11:27 PM

you should have, they were already one of my favorite bands but i respect them like twice as much now. theyre just such brilliant musicians. absolutely perfect pop

ATM 05-09-2007 11:44 PM

They are one of my top 5 favorites ever. I couldnt afford the 40 buck ticket though.

perriwinkle 05-09-2007 11:49 PM

im watching Patrick Wolf on Conan O'Brien and this performance is pretty lame

ATM 05-09-2007 11:57 PM

What was the Air setlist?

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 12:06 AM

i cant really tell you in order, but i remember them playing:

Run
Sexy Boy
La Femme d'Argent
Kelly Watch the Stars
Remember
Cherry Blossom Girl
Venus
Photograph
Alone in Kyoto
Mer du Japon

of course there were many more but right now i'm downstairs and all my music is on my external hd so i cant play through songs to remember but yeah just looking through the titles they definitely played all of those. also they definitely played at least two unreleased songs. they were great i have no clue why i havent heard them before... one of them really rocked, like harder than i have ever heard Air rock before.

ATM 05-10-2007 12:10 AM

Argh...should have gone. Run is such a jam.

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 12:13 AM

one of the best songs they did was their rendition of Remember. ****in ROCKED

Did they play People in the City?

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 12:18 AM

i can tell you soon Conan is over and now its Carson Daly and this **** blows hardcore. ill probably go upstairs pretty soon i cant take this much longer

edit no the only thing they played from 10,000 Hz legend was Don't Be Light
they did the craziest rendition of that song.. it was much cooler than the original

Surfing on a Rocket (they opened with an acoustic version of this)
Space Maker
Once Upon a Time
Napalm Love
J'ai Dormi Sous L'eau (this one was especially great.....)

i think thats it... maybe some others from Virgin Suicides which i dont have

margin0walker 05-10-2007 12:34 AM

run must have been ****ing incredible live

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 12:53 AM

yes yes yes yes i went apeshit when i heard that crazy vibraphone melody

the guys voice is perfect, and it sounded so good on those parts where he used the loop pedal. the vibraphone and kick part was played on like a laptop and the chords he did as he sang, along with the choral samples. that dude had three keyboards and a synth around him the whole set. and then the other guy was playing on a bass and that was all for Run everyone else was chillin

here is the updated and pretty much complete set list (only first and last songs are in order)

Surfing on a Rocket (acoustic)
Run

W 6/20 The National w/ Talkdemonic
**** yea

pikester 05-10-2007 12:02 PM

I've never heard The National, but they're playing a 19+ venue in Vancouver the day after my 19th birthday. What should I check out in order to properly represent them?

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 12:37 PM

you should probably get Boxer because thats their new album so thats the direction theyre headed in creatively, and thats where a long of the songs on the set list are gonna be from. but if you want, get Alligator after that

The Great Decay 05-10-2007 01:15 PM

I only have Boxer at the moment, and it's got some solid tracks. I suppose I should invest some time in Alligator.

perriwinkle 05-10-2007 01:39 PM

it was on album trading some time recently you might be able to salvage the link

Montana 05-10-2007 07:22 PM

Next Tuesday, I am going to see Califone. I've only hear a couple of their songs on the radio so far but I'm pretty sure it is going to be awesome.

Concubine 05-10-2007 10:06 PM
