Confusing to play.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 08:19 PM

Copy it to notepad, it'll look simpler. The tunings a bit of a bitch, but just try it in Drop D to see how it sounds.

CONNER_NWHC 01-27-2005 08:23 PM

What do the X's mean in the first note.

young, loud and andrew 01-27-2005 08:24 PM

I've figured out the whole thing... the intro is all octaves...

NewKindofArmy03 01-27-2005 08:24 PM

You mute that string but hit the A and the G string.

CONNER_NWHC 01-27-2005 08:28 PM

ahh rights it's coming along ok now. I've had trouble learning most CBK songs i try to play.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 08:33 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right, the verse is easy to figure, just some fast progressions.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 08:46 PM

If I read that correctly, I play it a little differently. I have that much done, to lazy to do the rest.

The first chords before the open ones I don't play octaves, just after it. Give a minute and I'll do my verison.

All In A Year is an easy one.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 08:58 PM

eb|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-7------------5-----------10-10--12-12---15-15-15-14-12-10-10-10---15-15-15-14-12-14--|
Db|-x-0-0-0-0--x-0-0-0-0--x--x---x--x-------x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x---------x--x--x--x--x--x--|
Ab|-5-0-0-0-0--3-0-0-0-0--8--8---10-10---13-13-13-12-10-8--8--8-----13-13-13-12-10-12--|
Db|---0-0-0-0----0-0-0-0--------------------------------------------------------------|

Play the 5x7 0000 part twice.

After listening again Cb is right with the octaves.

What tuneing is it in?

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:02 PM

Drop D, then half step down.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 01-27-2005 09:05 PM

Go here and check out the tab. A ton of other tabs there too.

CONNER_NWHC 01-27-2005 09:06 PM

Tuning down is so much work im so darn lazy.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:06 PM

Haha, I hate having to tune half step down. I don't like doing it. I can deal with Drop C, but not half step down.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 01-27-2005 09:08 PM

Drop C is harder though?

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:08 PM

Ehh, half step down seems more useless to me.

40 oz 2 freedom 01-27-2005 09:09 PM

Same with me. Half step is just a hassle.

chips88 01-27-2005 09:11 PM

That's why you need to play 5 string bass, sucka's!!!

What that has to do with tuning down, I have no idea, but I am too stupid to play guitar.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:11 PM

Haha, I don't like bass except for like blues or jazz. Which I cannot play.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 09:17 PM

Yeah. Half steps are so annoying. You have to fret the first fret and shit. Plus, you might as well just go down to C. The only bands I can think of that use Drop Db are Death By Stereo, CBK, Norma Jean, and Finch.

CONNER_NWHC 01-27-2005 09:17 PM
Ehh, half step down seems more useless to me.
Ya i just did it for all in a year so im not tuning out untill i can play this song well.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:17 PM

Hoods

40 oz 2 freedom 01-27-2005 09:18 PM

Don't CBK and Norma Jean use Drop C normally?

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 09:18 PM
That's why you need to play 5 string bass, sucka's!!!

Meh, I don't mind tuning down my 4 string to C, though the strings get a bit flopy. I tuned down to B for "Waiting For The Heavens" by 18V and my strings were so floppy. That's when I wished I had a 5.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-27-2005 09:18 PM

Not CBK, I donno about Norma. I don't know any of their songs.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 09:19 PM
Don't CBK and Norma Jean use Drop C normally?
Memphis is in Drop Db. I assumed the rest of the stuff was in Db.

shane italian 01-27-2005 09:22 PM

Today my friend found an old bank account his parents set up for him and forgot about. He went in the bank and we figured he would come out empty handed (he always comes up with sketchy plans for money) and he walks out with 200 bucks in his hand. So we went to the record store and he says "pick something out and get it". So I got A Wilhelm Scream 'Mute Print' and Set Your Goals EP. And he's gonna sell me his portable record player.

CONNER_NWHC 01-27-2005 09:23 PM

Cool sounds like a nice guy.

shane italian 01-27-2005 09:24 PM

Yeah, he said he would sell me the record player for 40 bucks.

40 oz 2 freedom 01-27-2005 09:25 PM

Badass.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 01-27-2005 09:27 PM

That rules. I want a Set Your Goals EP. Oh and a record player.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 09:28 PM

Shane, did you end up getting Together.Forever.United or whatever it was called?

40 oz 2 freedom 01-27-2005 09:28 PM

I've looked all over the intranet for a SYG 7", and I've been very unsuccessful.

shane italian 01-27-2005 09:30 PM

Well I got the CD. And I believe it's just a self titled ep.

40 oz 2 freedom 01-27-2005 09:31 PM

Oh ok. Then I don't think SYG 7"s exist.

shane italian 01-27-2005 09:33 PM

There was a used Reach The Sky cd for 7 bucks.

cbmartinez 01-27-2005 09:36 PM
