Charles Mingus.

My girlfriend made me put The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady on because she found the word Mingus funny.

the_bends_ 08-23-2005 09:56 PM

Really indie cool...

Ok... so I am traveling through London, and I see this really beatiful chick on TV just rocking her *** off (really good looking too) on the piano.... went online her website RIPS>.. its awesome.

Turns out Slash played on her record and a whole bunch of other people too... and then I saw ****ing Noel from Oasis just ****ing all over her at some award show and she was kinda above it... she is really cool and her music rocks. RECOMENDATION!

Her name is Elan... she is from Argentina or Mexico or something.

Tonight I had some fun listening to Gang of Four, Larry Young, and Sam Rivers.

Tapeworm 08-24-2005 01:07 AM

What should I buy?

1. Nillson - Everybody's Talkin' (some greatest hits thing) - $10
2. Neutral Milk Hotel - Aeroplane Over Sea - $31
3. Motorhead - Ace of Spades - $17
4. Blondie - Parallel Lines & Plastic Letters - $19

All in Australian dollars.

I have a limited budget. I can maybe spend 30 bucks.

Neutral Milk Hotel is the only good CD up there. But $31 is quite pricey

Iai 08-24-2005 07:50 AM

I wouldn't buy any of them tbh.

Tangy zizzle 08-24-2005 08:23 AM

I've decided to become a simger/sngwriter. I think tht;s where the money is man.
simger/sngwriter.
Being drunk on the net is depressing.

Tangy zizzle 08-24-2005 08:27 AM

Christ is it ever.

But seriously, singing and writing lyrics ala Busted is the way to go innit?

Iai 08-24-2005 08:34 AM

Yeah, unless your bandmate has a credibility complex.

RedMorningLight 08-24-2005 08:44 AM

I've been diggin' hole, hahahaha, actually I dislike them. I have actually been diggin' Deftones, especially "Minerva".

Yeah, so I've read. Is their most recent one any good? This is the first album of theirs that I'll be listening to.

The most recent one isn't too bad however my favorite is their 1993 release Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby on Touch and Go. It might still be in print but if it's not, you can probably find it in a used record store.

Interstate 08-24-2005 04:13 PM
