iTunes is probably the shittiest media player around. Winamp is much better.

No media player should slow down and start freezing as your music collection grows, and that's exactly what iTunes does.
Exactly, i don't even have much music and it is already really slow for me.
oreally?

does winamp sync iPods?
As Maggot Dream stated, yes it does.

Static 02-18-2008 10:22 PM

zune.

fishbulb 02-18-2008 10:50 PM

All of a sudden I really want to be able to play music off of an iPod/Zune in my car but there are some problems:

Zune/iPod would cost $250
Car stereo doesn't have an AUX input so i'd have to buy a different one or get a radio transmitter
Either way it would end up costing me over $300 for a little bit of added convenience.

My birthday is in July but it wouldn't be worth it since i'm leaving for college in September.

I have $400 in my bank account but that doesn't mean i want to spend all of it.

high toms sounded ok, the floor tom was pretty dead compared to them and the snare/kit sounded pretty flat/lacking in character. looks neat though

Sound clips seem great. Except for the kick drum, but I think that's just a weird tuning.

zildjianboy1984 02-18-2008 11:01 PM

rad sounding toms! kick sounded like it was fully of pillows

Electric Requiem 02-18-2008 11:03 PM

bass drum sounds like dribbling a basketball

bobby__johnny 02-18-2008 11:06 PM

those toms do rock. nice and deep, but they sing.

Nahie 02-18-2008 11:09 PM

bobby__johnny 02-18-2008 11:20 PM

New Pearl Vision series...anyone had any experience?

Win A Rabbit 02-18-2008 11:21 PM

i realized today that at my current pay, it would take about 40 years to make $500k.

not just to save $500k, but to actually make it in total.

:( i need a better paying job.

fishbulb 02-18-2008 11:21 PM

Where do you work? (directed more towards nahie, but liam you too)

I just went to VIC Firth to look at a proper grip and mine is pretty damn close to theirs so i'm glad that i naturally have a good grip. I just need to work on my doubles because i tend to put all the pressure on my index and thumb and i need to get my other fingers closer to the stick to build control (stick control, if you will).

Page rep'd by the way.

Nahie 02-18-2008 11:29 PM

Eat more bananas.
Not even kidding, potassium prevents charlie horses.

fishbulb 02-18-2008 11:33 PM

Nice, nice.

Well this 4-day weekend came to a close fast. I'm off to watch TV then hit the sack for school tomorrow =/.

I did, however, make tremendous strides in my doubles and my grip in just half an hour on the pad. :thumb:

Win A Rabbit 02-18-2008 11:37 PM

i work at a youth centre. right away i'm going to talk to someone about a pay raise and/or them to move me to "part time", as i work part time hours, but am listed as casual, so i get 0 benefits right now, which is horrible, since i've been there for 16 months now, and have got a 50 cent raise.

dammit. i'm trying to write an article for the newspaper about an upcoming silent auction we're holding (yay free advertising), but i have like 4 sentences and can't think of anything else to write.

maybe i'll just make it a "letter to the editor". it's about that size. and nobody else in our group is going to bother doing it. better than nothing.

Sunshine 02-18-2008 11:37 PM

I don't see why everybody had today off of work/school except for me.
Well, I guess most colleges had school today.
And then my dad had work 'cause he works in retail, and my mom works at this weird environmental place so she had work even though they didn't do anything today 'cause everyone thought they were closed since everybody else was closed.

But yeah, for the most part, everybody had a 3 day weekend.
And I guess fishy got 4.

Electric Requiem 02-18-2008 11:57 PM

I have 'reading week' this week, supposedly to study for midterms, even though I've had half already.

Seafroggys 02-19-2008 12:00 AM

I don't remember having President's Day off for anything, to be honest. Don't know why people think things are shut down.
