Everything by Orwell is pretty brilliant. Coming Up For Air, A Clergyman's Daughter, Animal Farm.

1984 is over rated and borderlining plagiarism but it's still good.

What's it stolen from? I'd like to read it

Tyler 04-02-2009 02:17 PM

1984 is just like, terrible as a novel. It's a horrible book. As an idea, it's outstanding. But it's such a tedious and underwhelming read. You can get as much out of the cliffnotes as you can from trying to finish it.

Txus 04-02-2009 02:20 PM

Orwell is ok, Animal Farm and Coming Up For Air are his best. 1984 was very boring.

NOOTH 04-02-2009 02:22 PM

Tedious and underwhelming read? Not at all. I picked up and finished it in like two days. Loved it.

the2stranger 04-02-2009 02:50 PM

I enjoyed 1984 a lot too. I actually liked it better then Animal Farm.
I felt Animal Farm was too short.

Glitterati 04-02-2009 04:13 PM

The greatest sci-fi writer of all time is clearly L. Ron Hubbard. Look no further than Battlefield Earth for proof.
What's it stolen from? I'd like to read it
He ganked the entire plotline from We by Zamyatin. Which is amazing by the way.
