Tool is not Tool without Maynard, Adam, Danny and Justin. Period.
What band put Opiate and Undertow out then? |
What band put Opiate and Undertow out then?
I don't know, but I didn't know it had such smartass fans. Man, how ironic. Edit: That was a joke. I just couldn't refrain from saying it. |
Who?
Lots of people that I know. I go to an Arts school and alot of the vocal majors are quite good. |
I think the members of Tool could go on without Maynard, but as a completely seperate entity and having no association with Tool.

Yeah, I think they'd pull an Audioslave. Maybe change their name and start making kick *** music, but music that sounds much different. |

I'd just like to know what vocalist, if any, could fill the shoes of MJK.
|
Akerfeldt could pull it out. No growls though.
|
I know Paul D'Amour was with them before, but Tool now would not be the same without Justin in the band.
|
Akerfeldt could pull it out. No growls though.
exactly. and  about the opiate undertow thing I think all Tool fans should recognize that the first person to leave the current lineup would probably be maynard. |
I already mentioned Chad Grey as my first pick.
Akerfeldt's singing voices is a bit too conservative I think. |

I agree, I was just giving you chit. |

As far as filling the shoes of MJK as his role in Tool, the answer is: no one. |

taht dood from apc. |

That's true, but they could go on, Undertow and opiate being just as good as the new (IMO) ones, I think the band could go forward somehow. |

Truth. He's responsible for A LOT more than just singing. |
Since he apparantly wants to sing like Maynard, Pete from Chevelle could replace him, if needed.
|
Well, he's an awful song-writer and when he tries screaming, it only comes out as obnoxious yelling.
|

Hadn't thought of that but I agree with Kage on his song-writing. The voice is very similar, though. |

the guy from earshot sings more like MJK,but still he's unreplaceable, nobody posses the mind of MJK. |

I kinda like Chevelle :/ |
It's not that Chevelle is horrible. I just don't like their lyrics, his guitar playing is pretty lousy most of the time and the new album is far worse than anything they've ever released. I never liked Point #1, and WWN was good but it got old for me.

Well thats why I said "if anyone". It definately wouldn't be the same or as good, but I'd just like to know who everyone would pick. |
I'd pick myself, then.
|

Chevelle is a bit generic. I liked parts of Point #1. |
Chevelle is kind of my musical guilty pleasure.
|

Nice. Tool fanboys would probably rip whoever it was replacing him to shreds. |
Chevelle is kind of my musical guilty pleasure.
My musical guilty pleasure is Ludacris. |

Yeah, some of their songs are kinda lame I guess. But they have a few songs that I really like. But the songs that everyone else liked, I hate. Like "Red" and "Closure". Those songs aren't really that great to me . |
