Hey Tim, good to hear the new album is going well.

can't wait to hear it

Lord Tim 05-11-2006 11:04 AM

Good luck finding the original Resurrection anywhere. I know a few people who managed to score it on eBay though.

I gotta say, it's pretty dreadful - serious collectors item only!

dUSK 05-11-2006 11:19 AM
I gotta say, it's pretty dreadful - serious collectors item only!
That's why I want it so much. :p

Hearing the comparison between the two would be cool, I think, and getting to hear Let It Go is an added bonus. I'll keep the search up.

NP: Blind Guardian - Theatre Of Pain

Apocalyptic Raids 05-11-2006 08:11 PM

Yeah I would be interested in the original too.

Riva 05-11-2006 08:41 PM

Hey, Lord Tim, check your email regarding the merge of your accounts.

Tyler 05-11-2006 09:03 PM

I just gave Sabaton a second chance, and I'm glad I did.

While there's definitely better stuff out there, it's still great.

Slapping Penguin 05-12-2006 02:16 AM

Lord Tim will you be playing at Metal for the Brain in Cnabbera this year, oh please do.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-12-2006 02:20 AM

Hey, Dom. It's actually called "Canberra"

Just so you know :thumb:

Lord Tim 05-12-2006 02:49 AM

Well, no bands have been picked for MFTB yet, but I'd say we'll likely be there. :)
Hey, Lord Tim, check your email regarding the merge of your accounts.
Ooh! Neato! :thumb:

No sign of the e-mail though... I think my mail has some kind of attitude problem or something!

Slapping Penguin 05-12-2006 03:20 AM

Yes, I didn't go to last year, but appatently when you were Dungeon you put up a great show, show I just wanna see you play.
Hey, Dom. It's actually called "Canberra"

Hahaha, I didn't even notice how I spelt it.

JausmetalJ 05-12-2006 05:02 AM

Does MFTB come to Melb?

Apocalyptic Raids 05-12-2006 05:28 AM

I don't think so.

JausmetalJ 05-12-2006 05:30 AM

) :<

Apocalyptic Raids 05-12-2006 05:32 AM

way to trip me out with the smiley :(

JausmetalJ 05-12-2006 05:42 AM

Hahaha, im yooneek

Lord Abortion 05-12-2006 06:49 AM

I'm starting to get into Ressurection now... again, the live versions of the tracks have helped me get into them. Paradise, I am Death, Legend of a huma and the title track all have an added imputus live that allows me to appreciate the studio versions more.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-12-2006 07:25 AM

I agree.

Especially with the title track and I Am Death. The little extra bit of speed makes them heaps better.

dUSK 05-12-2006 07:39 AM

I've kind of gone off Paradise lately, in the same way that Maiden fans stop listening to Run To The Hills, I think. The Legend of Huma is so incredibly good though. \m/

I was going to see Dungeon at Brisbane MFTB last year, but they found out the day before that it was 18+. I was very pissed off.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-12-2006 08:44 AM

haha, I'm the same with Paradise. I used to listen to it non-stop.

shadow_stalker 05-12-2006 11:27 AM

Whenever i read a Dragonlance book i put on the the under the rising sun cd, so i can listen to 'legend of huma' and 'netherlife (black roses die)'

good god i am sad :p

Lord Tim 05-12-2006 02:01 PM

You guys should talk, I'm the nerd who wrote 'em both! :p

shadow_stalker 05-12-2006 06:06 PM

yeah but they are awesome songs, the fact i actually sit and listen to them while reading the books is just really bad

Riva 05-12-2006 06:34 PM

I never got into Dragonlance. I really like the Forgotten Realms ones, like the Icewind Dale trilogy, the Drizzt books and Elminster: The Making of a Mage.

Shattered_Future 05-12-2006 07:02 PM

I never really liked fantasy books, though hack n slash games go well with power metal...

NP - Kamelot - Memento Mori. Love this song...

ACircuitShock 05-12-2006 07:03 PM

I could never get into to Dragonlance either. I had heard good things about R.A Salvatore and Drizzt so I borrowed the Dark Elf trilogy from a friend of mine, but he warned me they weren't as good as everyone said. man he was right, those books bored the hell out of me. I'll never understand what people see in R.A Salvatore. Want some good fantasy? Go read G.R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series, phenomenally written political/high fantasy.
And you claim to like power metal...

Shattered_Future 05-12-2006 07:57 PM

Yes, but there's only a certain level of cheese I can take. Power metal tops it off.

ACircuitShock 05-12-2006 08:04 PM

Only the bad fantasy books are cheesy (like Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms). The good ones have realistic characters.

Shattered_Future 05-12-2006 08:06 PM

I dunno, though, the whole fantasy genre seems cheesy to me...

I will admit I like sci-fi books though. :p

Deth 05-12-2006 08:07 PM

I don't read much fantasy. I read science fiction and classics more.

ACircuitShock 05-12-2006 08:12 PM

Sci-fi does rock as well. Dune is amazing.
