Oh, thank god.

Maggot Dream 09-08-2004 07:00 PM

A classic rock station did that in my town, but they put Freebird at #1. Bad choice IMO.

Badmoon 09-08-2004 07:00 PM

Better choice though. IMO

Maggot Dream 09-08-2004 07:02 PM

What would u put at the top?

Fabulous pick

thelizardkingcc 09-08-2004 07:02 PM

yea a classic rock station did that in maryland and rated "cant get no satisfaction" by the stones #1, then they did it again and stairway was #1.

Maggot Dream 09-08-2004 07:03 PM

great songs, personally I go for stairway

Should've been Wild Horses. :thumb: One of my favorites.

Broken Arrow 09-08-2004 07:11 PM

Did you know Booker T and the Mgs were Neil Young's backing band in 1992?
Sympathy for the Devil got 3rd.
Good enough. That song has excellent lyrics.

Edit: 3 posts

Broken Arrow 09-08-2004 07:21 PM

Yeah Neil Young had 4 songs on that list.
I voted for one of them

Woodstock 09-08-2004 07:34 PM

Oh yeah, which one?

Creedence Clearwater 09-08-2004 07:43 PM

how did Bob dylan go?

RockAndRoll 09-08-2004 07:48 PM

I'm probably going to see Jethro Tull! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

magicbus 09-08-2004 07:58 PM

**** i missed a lot. Roy Harper sings on have a cigar (a british singer in that time, not in floyd), the oz one isn't that great. The Wall is amazing. I've gained a completely new respect for the cd after watching the movie. It was unbelievable. I'm getting it this weekend.

Piper at the gates of dawn is sweet, but its more rock than psychadelic. Like simpler riffs, like the beatles or kinks (what it reminds me of at least), but don't get me wrong, its definently trippy nonetheless. Especially Syd's lyrics. What else... Wish You Were Here is probably one of my favorite, if not THE favorite, Pink Floyd cds. Animals is cool, although unpopular. Give it a shot. I have Meddle on vinyl, and I'd buy it just for Echoes (23 minutes long!), but the other songs are great. One of these days is fun to listen to stoned, cause it has crazy reverse delay.

I pride myself in my knowledge of Floyd. Ask me some questions! :thumb:

Creedence Clearwater 09-08-2004 08:09 PM

is it true that david Gilmour owns the fender stratocaster from 1954 with the serial number 001?

magicbus 09-08-2004 08:12 PM

Yea. I just read that recently, though. But yea its one of his guitars. Don't know if he was the first owner or whatever, though.

Creedence Clearwater 09-08-2004 08:14 PM

I think i heard that it had that serial number but came of the production line a few months after production began

magicbus 09-08-2004 08:15 PM

Oh, so it could've been a mistake.

Creedence Clearwater 09-08-2004 08:18 PM

Yeh, it would still be cool though to own a 50 year old stratocaster

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-08-2004 08:21 PM
I pride myself in my knowledge of Floyd. Ask me some questions! :thumb:
Bet I know more :D Sorry you act like you haven't herd Live in London 66 67 or the early Floyd  ..........Rare stuff

magicbus 09-08-2004 08:23 PM

I've heard the early stuff, listening to Saucerful of Secrets right now ;) . You got me on the live stuff though, I've only heard a few live albums.

Also I didn't want to come off sounding cocky, I wanted to help people out with questions.
