oi oi oi!

I'm bored and want to go to school.

RIP Ian Curtis 02-19-2006 11:19 AM

I'm bored and suffering from insomnia...
Punx = me. Or not. Anyone ever heard a song called "Cowboys In Africa", by some NY band from the good old days...

RIP Ian Curtis 02-19-2006 11:30 AM

I got some New York sampler album. I know it's got Trash by The Dolls, Rip Her To Shreds by Blondie, Going Going Gone by Richard Hell & The Voidoids and a bitchin' good version of See No Evil by Television live. As for the rest of the tracks, bad brains is on there somewhere (gross), as are the dictators, teenage jesus & the freaks, james chance & the contortions, and suicide.

I don't like that scene.

RIP Ian Curtis 02-19-2006 11:43 AM

Fair enough. I didn't before, but it's really growing on me. It's been a real god-send, just at the point where I've been getting fed up with music, I've discovered this whole other scene which is really speaking to me.

coheneran 02-19-2006 12:11 PM

Yesterday I discovered that the punk scene has its share of arseholes. Of all the people I talked to at this gig (it was like stepping back in time to the 70's and seeing all that spiky hair and random shavings and ripped clothing) only a minority of them were nice. Everyone else was a bunch of macho cu'nts, the girls as well.

You've just discovered this? Unfortunately, there are quite a few a'ssholes in my local scene, but there are also quite a few really nice people. You gotta take the good with the bad sometimes.

RIP Ian Curtis 02-19-2006 12:16 PM

My local scene is my band and one girl who we went to school with.

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 12:20 PM

My local scene is full of assholes.

coheneran 02-19-2006 12:20 PM

I had someone thrown on me at least ten times last night. It didn't hurt me, but I had a self-righteousness trip everytime the guy next to me got punched by some girl for groping her when she fell on him. =P

It's by the Bush Tetras, and yeah its a good song. Get their album Boom in the Night, it's great.

Oh really? Awesome thanks man.
ok, for some reason I can't add notes to this >.<
I would have suggested Power Tab Editor, but it only actually allows you to edit tabs...hence the name.

Buzzbomb 02-19-2006 12:55 PM

My "scene" is full of fat girls who die there hair and wear to much black and consider Underoath an emo band. All of whom you take pictures of themselves in black and white looking down at the floor.

They are trying to see their toes.

RIP Ian Curtis 02-19-2006 12:59 PM

Ah lameness to the max. I kinda like being a terribly small scene. All the bands we share bills with are scared of us or at least confused by us (older bands usually confused, young guys in pop-punk bands more the scared), and it lets us be cooler than everybody else in town.

Lukeh 02-19-2006 01:00 PM
ok, for some reason I can't add notes to this >.<
Oh yeah, I probably should've gone into it more. You can put in the tab numbers and then keep playing around with the different frets until the fret matches the note on the stave with the music you're copying. It takes a bit of a while at first, but so does transposition.

Damn, you'd probably benefit infinitely more by just trying to transpose it yourself, sorry for wasting your time.

Buzzbomb 02-19-2006 01:00 PM

Which they haven't seen in a good three years.

coheneran 02-19-2006 01:02 PM

*e-Highfive*

AndreTheHyena 02-19-2006 01:03 PM

In high school, my band and our friends were the scene. That's all changed now, of course, but I think it's healthy to come from that sort of background. All of the band members and fans and friends are still pretty tight-knit, though we've all gone our seperate way.

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 01:06 PM

[_chairman_] I quit the punk forum
[_chairman_] i post in the pit now.

UHHHHHHH?

LOL

coheneran 02-19-2006 01:07 PM

BRAD QUIT THE PUNK FORUM!

We shall remember Brad for his joyfullness, and his enthusiasm for everything punk.

Now throw some money in the hat so we can hire a hitman. If we can't have him, no one will!

(r)evolution 02-19-2006 01:09 PM

Culture Shock 02-19-2006 01:10 PM

Woah, US vs Guatemala is starting now. Anyone else into soccer (Americans in particular)??

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 02:26 PM

I am. I think I talked with you on AIM about soccer before.

coheneran 02-19-2006 02:36 PM

AIM is LAIM.

Anarcho Poser 02-19-2006 02:39 PM

I play soccer, but I'm bad at it and only watch it to learn what to do.

coheneran 02-19-2006 02:42 PM

I suck at footie, but I'm not that bad in goal, and I really enjoy it.

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 02:59 PM

I play soccer.

RetiredAt21 02-19-2006 06:30 PM

I used to play soccer.

Buzzbomb 02-19-2006 06:31 PM

What a boring day at the community thread.

coheneran 02-19-2006 06:32 PM

Isn't it just? I need ideas for a freehand stencil.

RetiredAt21 02-19-2006 06:32 PM

Pretty much all weekend has been sort of boring on here.

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 06:34 PM

Worst weekend I've had in a long while.
What a boring day at the Internet.
fix'd

white_riot 02-19-2006 06:41 PM

My weekend sucked too. I went to the Library and they had no books that I was after, so I had nothing to do.

DaveToopes 02-19-2006 06:41 PM
fix'd
Fixed for truth.

I read that when you sent the link in hubub. I guess it's a good idea. I think it's a lot of effort for something that might not make much of a difference, if any at all.
