I used to be smart, at least, I think I did. I have always been in gifted and talented programs since I started school, but don’t let that smokescreen delude you for a moment into thinking that makes me smart. Some of the stupidest people I ever met were also in these gifted and talented programs. Let me define stupid though, because many people don’t believe me when I make this claim. I mean stupid in the sense that these intellectual “elite” have no sense of intelligence in what they do. They don’t even bother to think, they just recite things in rote memorization and that apparently makes them intelligent. For instance, memorizing pi out to some ridiculous number of digits isn’t intelligent, it’s a waste of brain space. There’s no reason to store that in your brain, and that means that you have just wasted time and effort to achieve something with absolutely no purpose. Now justify their intelligence when they do something like that.

That's why I dropped out of gifted math in 6th grade, I couldn't stand the kids, they would just memorize ****, and think that made them better, and I'd just go and try to use reasoning and what not to get through problems. Therefore I was dumb because I didn't have to "know" the facts, I would actually take time to figure them out... pah, douches.
