No, don't listen to Leo and his piracy pleadings. Dark Moor are awesome.

Shattered_Future 11-28-2006 09:17 PM

Dark Moor are pretty cool. I should listen to them more...

/has...*cough*...pirated albums of theirs...:(

MetalOz 11-28-2006 10:29 PM

I liked Dark Moor best with Elisa Martin on vocals, she has a very unique voice. I have all her other projects, an album as guest vocalist with Fairyland, one album with Hamka, and 2 Dreamaker albums. All of them are quite good power metal albums but my favorite remains The Fall of Melnibone

Stormrider 11-30-2006 04:02 PM

I guess I don't have to download one of their albums. I'll just get a few more songs to see which one I need to buy :p

Or, I could just download it. We'll see what happens...I'm in no hurry though. The songs I have right now are satisfying.

MetalOz 12-04-2006 09:32 AM

Anyone heard the bonus disk for Dream Evil's United?
Limited Edition two CD pressing of this 2006 release from Metal merchants Dream Evil featuring a bonus three inch CD single with five exclusive audio tracks: 'Calling Your Name', 'Dynamite', 'Into The Unknown', 'I Will Never' and 'Vengeance'.
Sounds interesting.

Manticora - Forever Carousel

This song is incredible!

Iron Bars 12-05-2006 05:56 AM
NP - FireWind - Breaking the silence
I've been listening to Firewind alot lately. They've surpassed Dream Evil in my book I gues (but that could change pretty rapidly again).

MetalOz 12-05-2006 07:14 AM

Gus G. FTW!
I got that Dream Evil bonus disk and it's sehr gut, I was just wondering what the story with it is... Why a separate bonus disc that is really an EP? Were any of these songs released somewhere else?

I've been listening to Heavenly - Virus lately. They've got some early Helloween-esque stuff that's great.

Stoic 12-05-2006 08:06 AM

Helloween-esque stuff, ha? That could be interesting.

MetalOz 12-05-2006 08:13 AM

Perhaps a Heavenly sampler is in order. I have Dust to Dust by them as well.

EDIT: Check this out and you'll see what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfiZHPMrkK4

I'm on a Rhapsody binge.

Oh, the sheer, unadulterated joy of them.

NP-Triumph for my magic steel

ArcLite 12-05-2006 03:31 PM
NP-Triumph for my magic steel
My favorite Rhapsody song.

I love some Firewind. I don't like any of their albums as a whole because there's songs on them that I really can't dig. However, the ones that I do like I listen to all the time, ei Kill to Live, Between Heaven and Hell, amongst others.

Deth 12-05-2006 08:55 PM

Rhapsody are so good that it pains me to listen to the new album.

ArcLite 12-05-2006 09:55 PM

Is it not good?

Tyler 12-05-2006 09:57 PM

It's so epic that it's actually unlistenable.

ArcLite 12-05-2006 10:01 PM

Haha, that makes me want to listen to it. So I'm assuming this one was released under the Rhapsody of Fire name?

Deth 12-05-2006 10:03 PM

Yeah. Take everything that was great about Rhapsody (speed, solos and kickass choruses) and replace it with string sections and voice overs and you have the new album.

Oh and ballads. Way too many ballads.

Tyler 12-05-2006 10:05 PM

There's maybe 3 minutes of up tempo music on the album.

Christopher Lee is still badass though.

Deth 12-05-2006 10:13 PM

Yeah, there is no denying that.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2006 08:23 AM

The Misery by Sonata Arctica is one of the best songs EVER

pate 12-10-2006 09:20 AM

I've never been able to like them. I believe I am the only person on the planet who is not in love with them.

Shattered_Future 12-10-2006 12:02 PM

Well, you fail then.

I didn't like Rhapsody's new album one bit. Too slow.

CaptainWaits 12-10-2006 06:07 PM
I didn't like Rhapsody's new album one bit. Too slow.
I agree. Sounds a lot like Turilli's solo material too, which I find to be pretty terrible.

I've got a quick question....is Angra's "Rebirth" a really good album, or how good is it??

Stormrider 12-10-2006 06:48 PM
I've never been able to like them. I believe I am the only person on the planet who is not in love with them.
Nope, you're not alone. I had one album which I never got into much, so I deleted it.

ArcLite 12-10-2006 07:55 PM
I've got a quick question....is Angra's "Rebirth" a really good album, or how good is it??
Yes, it is indeed very good. Get it.

Iron Bars 12-11-2006 02:58 AM

I have heard some Sonata Arctica but never found them more then just over avarage.

/Starts listening to Firewind again.

MetalOz 12-12-2006 07:02 AM

Kamelot!

I just got One Cold Winter's Night. It is really good. The live version of the songs are great and there are guest appearanes from Thomas Youngblood's wife doing the female vocals on some songs, Simone Simons of Epica does her parts on The Haunting, Snowy Shaw does Shagrath's parts on March of Mephisto, and Sascha Paeth makes an appearance playing guitar on one song as well. They have 3 live backup vocalists (so much cooler than samples). Apparently the keyboardist, Oliver Palotai is now officialy part of the band (and damn good) I still haven't checked out the 2nd disc...

/breaks out entire discography to re-listen

pate 12-12-2006 08:49 AM

That sounds awesome!

I still roffle at Snowy doing vocals in Therion. It's almost like if they got Nicko McBrain to replace Tarja :lol:

EDIT: Thing is, his vocals are completely awesome.

Shattered_Future 12-12-2006 02:23 PM

I like Snowy regardless of what he's doing. He could be playing triangle, for ****s sake, and he'd still make it one of the most metal triangle parts ever.

Kamelot has a live DVD? Sweeeet.

And I like Turilli's solo work. Up until his new album, it sounded like Rhapsody knockoff music, but the new one is a bit different and still just as good.

Snowy does the vocals on the new Therion album? [Is news to me if the answer is "yes"]

pate 12-12-2006 03:51 PM

...............yes. :p

ArcLite 12-12-2006 04:05 PM

I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?

Deth 12-12-2006 04:43 PM

What Kamelot album should I look for? I've been meaning to buy one. Or should I go with the new live album? I do love live albums.

pate 12-12-2006 05:53 PM
I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?
Yeah, it leaked two or three weeks ago. It's excellent.

Iron Bars 12-12-2006 05:54 PM
I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?
I've been listening to it non stop for 3 weeks now. It's amazing. We could basicly skip this years top albums and just call the new Therion album of the new year.

NP: Therion - Three Treasures

pate 12-12-2006 05:55 PM

I wouldn't go that far, but I would put it in at least the top 15 of the year.

MetalOz 12-12-2006 06:25 PM

I think Epica is my favorite but they really don't have a bad album. Although Eternity and Dominion have a different singer and I very much prefer Khan on vocals...

pate 12-12-2006 06:26 PM

Khan is amazing.

My favorite is The Black Halo.
