Burroughs and Tolstoy.

And Vonnegut is pretty good, but out of the little list you wrote back there, yes, he is probably one of the most boring/"bad" authors, but I still like 3 or 4 of his books.

And lately I've been reading more and more in spanish, I found a box full of my grandmother's old books, some good stuff there (Bolaņos, Saramago, Sabato, Vargas Llosa, Mistral, Carpenter)

Burroughs is my favourite author also, I've read most of his **** except Queer, which I've been intentionally holding off on reading.

Such a fuc ked up genius.

Txus 04-01-2009 09:07 PM

Indeed, I still need to read My Education: A Book of Dreams and Nova Express.

Queer is such a good book.

Permanent Solution 04-01-2009 10:01 PM

Vonnegut is **** guys.

666DiMe666 04-01-2009 10:06 PM

Douglas Adams is the best author of all time.

Jaundice 04-01-2009 10:43 PM

Queer was pretty unremarkable for me.

Honestly though Marquis De Sade and Hunter Thompson is as elite as it gets.

hismajestythepope 04-02-2009 01:04 AM
1984 is pretty intense tbh. It's just very drawn out.

Also, Vonnegut was ****ing elite. If you don't think he's a good author, you don't have a shred of wit in your head.
page-turn

Wow. No offense, but this tops the cake for retarded things you've said.

I like you dude, but I do not understand your concept of good vs. bad whatsoever.

an oral history of leprechauns in trees

I've never read 1984 but it always seemed kind of lame to me.

I'm on a Bret Easton Ellis kick right now.

repcak 04-02-2009 05:19 AM

nice avatar! :D

666DiMe666 04-02-2009 06:34 AM

I really like 1984. Admittedly the part where he gets really into the manifesto thing or what have you is a little dry, but I really enjoy stuff like that.

rasputin 04-02-2009 07:36 AM

1984 is one of the greatest books ever written

HighandDriving 04-02-2009 07:49 AM

Lulz.

RiceMonster 04-02-2009 07:57 AM

why is that funny

its a good book

HighandDriving 04-02-2009 08:32 AM

Yes it is.
1984 is one of the greatest books ever written
rasputin 04-02-2009 08:37 AM

you're still failing

it's one of my favourite books, and timeless. what are you getting at

Xplisit 04-02-2009 08:53 AM

hes saying its good; not anywhere near one of the greatest ever written

rasputin 04-02-2009 08:54 AM

well then good for him, he can have a cookie for being 'different'

HighandDriving 04-02-2009 09:29 AM

I'm just saying it's not one of the greatest books ever, be easy.

I don't get the "still failing" point, are you bringing up the whole txus thing?

pate 04-02-2009 09:31 AM

Animal Farm is superior to 1984.

HighandDriving 04-02-2009 09:39 AM

You could list off many books that are superior to 1984.

pate 04-02-2009 09:41 AM

Not books by the author of 1984 that nobody ever talks about.

Permanent Solution 04-02-2009 09:51 AM

Animal Farm was too short imo.
Wow. No offense, but this tops the cake for retarded things you've said.

Well, in this case, bad = lacking in plot, relying entirely on style. Having a bad style. Being without substance. Stuff like that.

HighandDriving 04-02-2009 10:02 AM

True, the sytle got tiring after awhile.
