Burroughs and Tolstoy.
And Vonnegut is pretty good, but out of the little list you wrote back there, yes, he is probably one of the most boring/"bad" authors, but I still like 3 or 4 of his books. And lately I've been reading more and more in spanish, I found a box full of my grandmother's old books, some good stuff there (Bolaņos, Saramago, Sabato, Vargas Llosa, Mistral, Carpenter) |
Burroughs is my favourite author also, I've read most of his **** except Queer, which I've been intentionally holding off on reading. Such a fuc ked up genius. |
Indeed, I still need to read My Education: A Book of Dreams and Nova Express.
Queer is such a good book. |
Vonnegut is **** guys.
js |
Douglas Adams is the best author of all time.
|
Queer was pretty unremarkable for me.
Honestly though Marquis De Sade and Hunter Thompson is as elite as it gets. |
1984 is pretty intense tbh. It's just very drawn out.
Also, Vonnegut was ****ing elite. If you don't think he's a good author, you don't have a shred of wit in your head.
page-turn |
Vonnegut is **** guys.
js
Wow. No offense, but this tops the cake for retarded things you've said. I like you dude, but I do not understand your concept of good vs. bad whatsoever. |
I'm reading some book for my african history class.
an oral history of leprechauns in trees I've never read 1984 but it always seemed kind of lame to me. I'm on a Bret Easton Ellis kick right now. |
nice avatar! :D
|
I really like 1984. Admittedly the part where he gets really into the manifesto thing or what have you is a little dry, but I really enjoy stuff like that.
|
1984 is one of the greatest books ever written
|
Lulz.
|
why is that funny
its a good book |
Yes it is.
1984 is one of the greatest books ever written
|
you're still failing
it's one of my favourite books, and timeless. what are you getting at |
hes saying its good; not anywhere near one of the greatest ever written
|
well then good for him, he can have a cookie for being 'different'
|
I'm just saying it's not one of the greatest books ever, be easy.
I don't get the "still failing" point, are you bringing up the whole txus thing? |
Animal Farm is superior to 1984.
|
You could list off many books that are superior to 1984.
|
Not books by the author of 1984 that nobody ever talks about.
|
Animal Farm was too short imo.
Wow. No offense, but this tops the cake for retarded things you've said.
I like you dude, but I do not understand your concept of good vs. bad whatsoever.
Well, in this case, bad = lacking in plot, relying entirely on style. Having a bad style. Being without substance. Stuff like that. |
True, the sytle got tiring after awhile.
