i like metallica's new stuff more
do ya reckon they'll ever release a greatest hits album?
sure.
Yes Metal_man, Master of Puppets is a good song with a good solo. I think the solo for Dyers Eve, Blackened and Ride The Lightning are their best solos
no damage inc solos is teh best. OmG

CLIFFORD LEE BURTON R.I.P. best bassist who ever lived. no 1 today even comes close. helpin metallica out through their first 3 albums by providing lead bass tunes and kick*** solos. any1 ever wonder what metallica would be like today if Cliff was still here? all the songs would be a lot better than that newstead ****. robs good too, but.... dont u think hes got just a little too much energy? comic releif in a way. may Metallica provide us with more of there music for years to come
john myung could slay him, as much as i like metallica, cliff burton is NOT the best bass player ever, i think rob might be better than him too actually.

Thank You God for letting someone else see how much Cliff rocked, by FAR the best bassist and no one has done what he did since him or even came close. Orion is Metallicas best song in my opinion, and for any bassist wishing to get Cliff's distorted sound its pretty simple. He used a Morley Power Wah and Electronic Harmonix Big Muff distortion. I own the distorion and using a P-bass it sounds pretty amazing. |
Lets not let this turn into a best bassist argument.
someone close this before it gets the biggest thread
while cliff was a really good bass player.. i cant deny.. i think there is no actual BEST out there anywhere i think there is just a whole bunch of very skilled people and it all depends on your own opinion to determine the best in your eyes (or ears in this case)
Cliff was the best!
but Newsted is better then Trujillo... way better |

Even though Metallica's old stuff is better than there new stuff, there new stuff is good compared to some of the other bands out there
Its kinda hard for them to out-do themsleves after about 11 albums of kick *** songs
metallica rule but i was dissapointed by s.t anger
Bump?
okay, i didnt read all the 219 pages on here so this might of been discussed already but what do you all think Metallica would be like if Mustaine was still in?
why was he kicked out or whatever anyway? |
after Cliff went, it all went kinda downhill from there

i agree........ there are only best bass players in their own styles in my opinion the style of cliff's playin was his own so the makes him one of the best bass players |

mater of puppets - about the holocaust (album cover and the phrase "i will occupy, i will help u die, i will run through u, now i rule u too" ride the lightning- innocent guy getting electric chair (Guilty as charged But **** it, it ain't right There is someone else controlling me Death in the air Strapped in the electric chair This can't be happening to me ) creeping death - moses and the plauges (Slaves Hebrews born to serve, to the pharaoh Heed To his every word, live in fear ...... Now Let my people go, land of goshen Go I will be with thee, bush of fire Blood Running red and strong, down the nil Plague Darkness three days long, hail to fire ....... Die by my hand I creep across the land Killing first born man Die by my hand I creep across the land Killing first born man....... Blood Lambs blood painted door, I shall pass) thats all i can think of |
Master of Puppets is about cocaine, and how it can control you. You're the 'puppet', and cocaine is your 'master'. Get it?

The site has the meanings of every song. There are some crazy ones.... like Harvester of Sorrow being about a drug addict/alcoholic dad losing it and killing his family. It also says how The Thing That Should Not Be and For Whom the Bell Tolls were taken from books. Man, Metallica has some meaningful songs... |
