I win.

Man, these personality type threads are a lot of work.

And some people can be such dicks about it.

"I just want you to know that I'm a cynical jerk, and I'm way too cool to take the test, but I just wanted to come in here and let everyone know that."

I think you are mistaken.

I win ;)

People are always dicks no matter what kind of thread it is. Don't sweat it.

gaslight 02-22-2005 12:36 PM

I have a real question.

Say someone is blind right, they can't see. But if they're asleep, and dreaming, can they see then?

PaulR 02-22-2005 12:37 PM

They aren't technically using their eyes. So no, they aren't seeing as such.

One Two Three Thousand.

I think the entire reason we had the database/server crash was because the server/database is overloaded because there are far too many useless posts taken up its space.

Yeah.... but if they've been blind their whole life than their dreams are probably nothing like a normal persons. Everything visual in our dreams is based on points of reference, and they would have none.... neat thought.

Yeah, but like what I mean is, I can see normally right now, and when I'm dreaming I have the same kind of vision. Would a blind person who is dreaming have the same kind of vision in their dreams?

And all the crappy users.

Ahh, I get it.

What about like, people who go blind say half-way through their lives from an accident or something?

Saitoku 02-22-2005 12:41 PM

I would imagine that their dreams are just like yours or mine.... well... not mine. my dreams are WEIRD. ;)

gaslight 02-22-2005 12:43 PM

Haha fair enough.

Man it would be so cool to have like a dream recorder or something.

You could write a dream journal. But thats kinda girly.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

You guys ever lucid dream? (When you know you're dreaming and can control your world.)

You can actually teach yourself to do it more often. It's pretty cool. I have lucid dreams about twice a month.

Saitoku 02-22-2005 12:47 PM
You could write a dream journal. But thats kinda girly.
Actually, doing that helps you lucid dream more often, because then you start to recognize more readily when you're in a dream.

PaulR 02-22-2005 12:49 PM

Weird, No I don't lucid dream much I don't think.

I think I can, but it just happens, sometimes you can do whatever you want in a dream you know?

gaslight 02-22-2005 01:00 PM

Yeah I have lucid dreams every now and then.

It's like an interactive porno .

Actually most of the time my lucid dreams are hell scary.

Saitoku 02-22-2005 01:02 PM

Well, guys. I'm gonna go eat lunch and mess around some more with my ME-50B....

I'll talk to you later.

gaslight 02-22-2005 01:03 PM

Have fun with that thing :thumb:.

PaulR 02-22-2005 01:03 PM

Bye Saitoku.

I experienced my first the other day. A really stupid thing. I was dreaming I wanted to get in the shower but the drain was blocked. Then I kinda willed some mr muscle drain cleaner and cleared the drain. Weird.

Jamie 02-22-2005 02:25 PM

Today i found out my old school caretaker used to be in the school brass band playing Bbb (or it might be BBb) Bass.

Is that double bass?

:upset: man... i wish he wasnt dead now. I would have been able to play his!

BassVirtuoso 02-22-2005 02:35 PM

I'm going to go cut down a maple tree to make a bass.

Skit 02-22-2005 02:38 PM

Excelent Idea!
I'll join you

gaslight 02-22-2005 02:47 PM

Do you get mahogany from like, a mahogany tree? Because I've never heard anyone say "hey, check out that big mahogany tree."

Skit 02-22-2005 02:55 PM

mahogany tree - somehow I doubt that exists...

Maybe its from a tree of a different name or its forged from lesser trees to create an unholy wood?

gaslight 02-22-2005 02:58 PM

I'd like to track down one of those ultra-secret sites where they have the trees that have survived from the dinosaur ages and stuff, and steal one to make a bass out of it.

Skit 02-22-2005 03:02 PM

^
You know too much!

:amaze:

Jamie 02-22-2005 03:02 PM

Like that one that Stuart Spector made?

Im sure the wood was either 5000 or 50,000 years old. The bass is worth tons.

Isn't the million dollar CT bass made from dinosaur-y woods?

neal_672 02-22-2005 03:26 PM

'Sup homies?

gaslight 02-22-2005 03:27 PM

Hadn't heard of it, whats the tone like with dinosaur wood?

gaslight 02-22-2005 03:27 PM

Not much, orientation day for me today at my music uni place.

You?

neal_672 02-22-2005 03:29 PM

Not a great deal, college, work then did an English Literature essay.

Am i the only one that finds chopping down an ancient tree just to make a guitar a tad selfish? I don't know why but if it's been around for such an immeasurable amount of time i just think it should be allowed to continue living, i probably wouldn't think about it if the bass was mine though so meh *shrugs shoulders*

Sounds so dirty... :naughty:

Wintermute 02-22-2005 03:30 PM

So I was looking for a nice example of quilted maple with a transparent finish, and I remembered that a friend of mine has an absolutely gorgeous guitar with a fine finish. So, I went on the Ed Roman website, wandered over to the Quicksilver gallery, looking for one like it. Straight away, I find a picture of his guitar - his particular guitar, listed as being sold to Brian Davies, who is his dad. So yay! I succeeded!

Check out this terrifyingly nice guitar.

I like, wouldn't actually do it lol :p.

That brings up an interesting point though, are people who are like ultra-ultra vegan, allowed to play instruments made of wood? Or does "living thing" not extend to plants for them?
