Tropic Rot > Versions

Iluvatar 12-09-2009 12:51 AM

tropic rot is ****ing awesome.

Mute Print 12-09-2009 12:56 AM

I still haven't heard it. I meant to pick it up after seeing them play a couple songs off it over the summer, but I never got around to it.

cbmartinez 12-09-2009 01:18 AM

i've only listened to tropic rot once or twice but i thought it was frustratingly bad, definitely worse than versions, don't think they will ever even approach the absolute magnificence that is you come before you. that being said, I dug the I/II/III releases immensely, thought those showed a lot of promise but tropic rot just ended up sucking

also, cue cob being like "MPP IS THE BEST ANIMAL COLLECTIVE RELEASE EVER"

cbmartinez 12-09-2009 01:23 AM

but then again I'm just a CLOSEMINDED TRENDHOPPING **** so i guess i wouldn't like tropic rot. but ycby will always hold a spot close to my heart, no matter how much new music I listen to, that album always ****ing floors me. its horribly, horribly underrated, I really wish it was on like Jane Doe level of appreciation. def top 10 of all time

flesh 12-09-2009 01:24 AM

cant stop listening to cascadian black metal

Iluvatar 12-09-2009 01:24 AM

merriweather post pavilion is better than ycby tbh

cbmartinez 12-09-2009 01:27 AM

pretty ****ing stupid to compare both of those albums

cbmartinez 12-09-2009 01:28 AM

anddddd you're wrong as usual

Iluvatar 12-09-2009 01:28 AM

yeah man pretty ****ing stupid

Iluvatar 12-09-2009 01:28 AM

anddddd we shall see what the PEOPLE SAY

cbmartinez 12-09-2009 01:40 AM

apparently we can just both agree that safer ****ing rooooooooooooooools

Iluvatar 12-09-2009 01:47 AM

yeah man that song is ridiculously good. its too bad they couldnt fit it on strawberry jam somehow would have made me really appreciate it more

chrisbarnesfacialbongscar 12-09-2009 07:29 AM

cobert 12-09-2009 09:49 AM

I haven't even listened to a full Animal Collective album. I just thought it was funny that my roommate called it 'fruity' and changed to Metallica.

whiteminority 12-09-2009 10:08 AM

metallica rules.

cobert 12-09-2009 11:16 AM

The more he listens to Master of Puppets, the more I warm up to it. I doubt I would ever sit down and listen to iy, but I never really complain when it's on because some songs are definitely rad.

RetiredAt21 12-09-2009 11:19 AM

Kill'em All is my fav Metallica.

Whiplash is a good song but I like Seek and Destroy more.

Mute Print 12-09-2009 01:09 PM

Love the first five Metallica albums. After that, no thanks.

Matt? 12-09-2009 01:37 PM

metallica as a band / people = seriously f'ucking gay

but metallicas first 4 albums = unstoppable thrash

i don't even listen to metal that often anymore (although i do still go through periods where i dig out my Trouble and Hallows Eve cd's) and i still play those
