I love meeting new people too, I guess I just don't feel comfortable at shows.
Somebody move to Western PA and start a band with me. |
nh has a lot of hicks...
you have to live with the hicks to enjoy the good parts of the country. pennsylvania is really similar to ny in this regards (imo) although obviously ny is better than pa. i've just come to realize that we are surrounded by idiots but at least they will smoke pot with you usually |
as for amish people, i dont know any personally, but i definitely respect their lifestyle, though id never be able to live it myself

I love meeting new people too, I guess I just don't feel comfortable at shows.
I generally don't feel comfortable if I go alone until somebody starts talking to me, which almost always happens anymore, which rules.
Somebody move to Western PA and start a band with me.
I'll lay down siqq gutturals for u bro. :p
nh has a lot of hicks... you have to live with the hicks to enjoy the good parts of the country. pennsylvania is really similar to ny in this regards (imo) although obviously ny is better than pa. i've just come to realize that we are surrounded by idiots but at least they will smoke pot with you usually
NY seems like an amalgamation of NJ and PA to me. I can't stand the majority of the people I've met from NYC though, so many big headed losers. |

i hate talking to people at shows because i can never hear them and i always ask them to repeat themselves but then i feel like i'm annoying them by asking so i just nod my head even though i don't know what they are talking about
|
well i mean NY obviously loses because it is connected to long island. but i mean come on. . . they should really just secede already. they are like the running joke of new yorkers

So many rich black and Puerto Rican kids from NYC moved to the suburban areas of A-Town when I was in highschool, and of course because they're black and Puerto Rican in a suburban school they had to put on this farce of being gangsta gangsta and try to start **** with everyone.
Funny part: kids started claiming they were in the bloods, and then the actual bloods from Allentown started beating the **** out of them and like shooting their mail boxes and **** to intimidate them.
None of my friends are really into hardcore or punk, so I might as well be there by myself.
That sucks dude. :/ A lot of my friends are into death metal and metalcore, so that rules... as for hardcore and emo, my best friend used to be into the same stuff as me but now he's into weird **** for the most part so idk, but I found out the one kid I go to metalcore shows with a lot is really into skramz so we roadtrip to **** a lot now. As for punk in my area, it's just gay.
breeeeeeee
I was thinking more clee cloo. |
My roommate bought Merriweather Post Pavilion because he heard My Girls in a skate video and really liked it, then he just shut it off halfway through because it's "fruity."
|
And then he just put on Metallica.
|
|
i havent really been 'on point' and had interest in the hardcore scene for about 3 years now...
|
cool story bro
|
Australia has superior hardcore to America.
|
No, just stop now.
|
America has so many different scenes per region it's absurd.
|
No, just stop now.
Make me. We have less chaff than you 'cause it's a smaller scene. The amount of mediocre hc bands from the US I've heard is astounding. The sad thing is, people tout them as being the bees ****ing knees when they're quite clearly not. |

lol ok
We have less chaff than you 'cause it's a smaller scene. The amount of mediocre hc bands from the US I've heard is astounding. We have more mediocre bands because we have more bands, but that just means we also have more good bands. |
Lehigh Valley's scene is so good.
Of course a lot of good bands always break up and I'm a doomsayer and I'm like OMG ITS NEVER GONNA BE THE SAME AGAIN, and then bands like Heather Grey and Snowing crop up. |
You do know I'm trollin' right?
In other news I'm thinking of starting up a few gigs soon. Just need a band, hmm. |
oh Aaron, you make me tingle downstairs
for some reason random people ive never met gravitate to me and spark conversation with me at most shows i attend, and it really always surprises me because im never one to spark conversation unless i know a person
its awesome though because i love meeting new people, and i always appreciate open minded, kind individuals all the time up until this past year? august burns red hate is almost as trendy as august burns red which makes it funny to me and thats the only music i listen to thing is ill always listen to a lot of different styles of music, so closed minded, opinionated douches like you will always make me laugh and i wont stop making fun of you
i really don't see how having strong opinions that you refuse to budge on is being close-minded, i see it as having real beliefs and not some floating scale of different variations on a single idea. august burns red is about as it gets, even when i was way into that style i thought abr sucked a fat one. and i used to LOOOOOOOOOOVE scene metalcore. |
never much liked scene metalcore other than like 7 angels 7 plagues
the metalcore i was real into was stuff like dep, botch, converge etc even ptw i never got into also, anyone like the hated? stumbled across this the other day, the only thing i had of theirs before was the lp everysong http://bloggedquartered.blogspot.com/2009/03/hated-1985-1989.html |
poison the well and underoath are awesome js

August Burns Red has some really ****ing cool harmonies that no other metalcore band ever really comes close to topping. It's awesome from the metal side of the spectrum in all honesty. Their drummer is ****ing awesome too, and I personally like their vocals a lot. Ill breakdowns with cool leads yo. Plus they're from Lancaster. |
i dont understand the universal mx hate
|
poison the well rule idk why people dont like them
|
also, anyone like the hated? stumbled across this the other day, the only thing i had of theirs before was the lp everysong http://bloggedquartered.blogspot.com/2009/03/hated-1985-1989.html
This might be my favorite blog on the internet. So much cool / rare stuff. Also: I definitely dig the first few Poison the Well albums. They kind of lost me at Versions, but I still like them quite a bit. |
